Well it's been almost a month and I finally got new seals. Not all of them just some of them. If you get a Customer service representative named "Winnie" be prepared for a poor experience. She still won't answer my question about the missing paint with no primer under the topcoat.

I started the warranty claim on April 6th, (all email), Yesterday (25th) they said that a new seal kit will be sent out. I told them don't want to spend hours removing the old seals, possibly scrapping off the paint, etc. Even tough this cap is "stainless steel" it is a ferritic stainless...

My experience is to use steel on anything that will hit rock, as it will slide. Where as aluminum is softer and tends to dig in and grab.

I think a Class action suit only works if you can get enough pissed off people. If they don't honor the warranty by the end of the month,... FTC.gov fraud compliant.

These inexpensive guards (PK389-35R50-P1) rub when installed on my (stock tires) Trailhunter Not badly, just in full turn and the truck is leaning a certain way. Very annoying sound. .

Mine leaked too, smartcap warranty support does not respond. The careless way they installed the seals caused all the problems. The seals pop'd out at almost every attach point.

The smartcap, it leaks and due to the design, I think it will always require some maintenance to keep it from leaking. Wish I has purchased the Alu-Cab Contour.
