  1. Digital Key card vs. Toyota phone app?

I got stranded once, I got into the truck, unlocked the doors, started it up, drove to restaurant. Then realized all I had with me was my iPhone, I had forgot my keys! Needless to say, when I went in to pick up my take out order, got back to the truck and had to fool around for 20 minutes to...
  2. Bed Step Options - OEM and now Aftermarket options

I've noticed the aftermarket ones on Amazon are slowly coming down in price where it makes it worth while to buy them. I'd be interested has anybody purchased them and how well they work compared to the OE one. Suspecting here in the snow belt where we get salt and sand that these don't last...
  3. Westcott Designs is garbage

OP is just telling everyone about the horrible customer service he didn’t read about.

  6. Ontario Insurance rates

Has to be a mistake - mines about $1800.00 a year. Do you have a bad driving record? Gathering not if your Ram is a more “normal” price. I did have to get a TAG installed in the truck or they were going to charge me another $500.00 a month.
  7. Installed TRUMGETA rear axle beam cap

Can’t see them staying in place. Car wash would likely rip them out. I’m also in the camp, can see rust forming around them over time, salt sand, moisture trapped in them.
  8. Does anyone know what this part is?

Toyota publishes information this on Page 7 of the owners manual, yet it’s amazing how many questions are still asked.
  9. Can't Drive 2024 Trailhunter Past 75 mph

Not for this sort of application. Those beads were originally developed for motor homes and that sort of thing if memory serves me, they’ve eventually crept into automotive. for modern vehicles with tight suspensions, larger wheels, they don’t get the job done. wheel and tire vibrations are more...
  10. Can't Drive 2024 Trailhunter Past 75 mph

I used to be a tech, one thing we were always taught about vibrations on courses. If you think the vibration isn’t wheels or tires it likely is, if you still don’t think it’s wheels and tires, it likely is. my advice, take the truck to a tire shop that uses a Hunter Road Force Wheel Balancer...
  11. NHTSA Opens Investigation Regarding GM 6.2L V8 Engine Failures

I don't get the relationship here. Not one of those vehicles with that engine were ever turbocharged. The 6.2 V8 never got a turbo, The 6.2 did get a supercharger, but never in those vehicles.
  12. Carplay doesn't auto connect and toyota app problems.

Always works for me ... to hard wire into CarPlay, at the right hand side of the screen there is a USB C port to plug into it.
  13. Carplay doesn't auto connect and toyota app problems.

you can also just go into bluetooth, devices, and toggle back on use Apple Car Play, also solves the problem.
  14. Carplay doesn't auto connect and toyota app problems.

Toyota needs to make the unit continue to look for a device until it finds a phone to connect to. The logic in the system should be, if I was connected to this phone when the truck was shut off, I should continue to look for that same device (say every"x" seconds) until I connect to the last...

  16. Magnefine Transmission filter

Looks like it just hooked up to a cooler line.
  17. Hitch Mounted Step and Bumper Protection?

I simply don't understand having a step integrated into a hitch receiver. When I want a step to get into the bed of my truck, the tailgate is open. What good is a step that's in the receiver of the trailer hitch then?
  18. Carplay doesn't auto connect and toyota app problems.

So same for me on the auto start. Anytime you auto start the truck with the app or the remote, car play does not connect. Any other time it connects flawlessly. The way I explain it to myself is that when the truck is started with the auto start, the head unit looks for a phone to connect to...
  19. Key Fob "Mod" -- Share Yours

I bought the Me-So Customs key fob. I really like it, the shape and form factor. But I do find that it makes the buttons more sensitive than the OE remote. When the remote is in my pocket on a ring with other keys, the buttons seems to easily get pressed and lock and unlock doors.
