Why not 285/75/17 Falkens (34.1” tires) - look almost as good and def would not require any trimming (although you may still need to remove crash pad).
My TH is 1/2” taller on passenger side. It could have to do with gas tank weight etc. Also - when you measure - MAKE SURE YOUR WHEELS ARE POINTING STRAIGHT AHEAD - and if the ground is not dead level it will be way off - these trucks are made to flex
I get the same 2 clunks - reverse and in/out of 4H. The reverse is not common and the 4H can be minimized by moving the truck slowly when getting in and out of gear.
I ended up not going up in size that much - I’m only 0.2” more diameter - so I kept stock spare and original lugs — I also got a sidewall repair kit and a traditional tire repair kit
