My sr5 has that feature too . I stop on a decent incline going home daily but I’ve never heard the engine idle up while in drive stopped. I’ll check tonight
Yup and that right there is the very confusing part, I thought for sure mine would die by now, although I am coming up on 2500 miles and that seems to be the sweet number for failures from what I’ve researched . She shifts decent at cruising speeds, but driving anything under 15mph GOOD LORD...
So why not jump on it and start fixing our trucks that shift like a 20 year car with a bad transmission. It’s getting ridiculous to be put on the back burner this long with zero acknowledgment from Toyota
The problem is it’s only going to throw a code if the shift solenoid completely fails… you could potentially drive the truck well past warranty and just shift like absolute shit for all that time depending on the amount of debris and size of debris, again…. Nobody expected such a pisss poor...

I’m ocd too I know what it feels like lol. I told myself when I bought my 4th gen I’m turning the ocd down big time and for the most part I have since buying it in late June, not once have gone under the truck to look at anything. I just clean it constantly to keep it looking new
Normal normal?. Direct injection is very loud, open your hood one day and listen to the engine for 30 min. You’ll eventually be able to hear it switch from direct Injection to port injection where it will quite up big time.
