I have yet to take mine above 65mph. I have 650 miles on mine and I just drive around town at varying speeds and Rpm’s like the Manuel says. Hills, flat roads, down hills. I’m really trying to break this truck in and keep it for a long long time

I still think it’s a relatively small amount of trucks with issues honestly. They’ll work it out but it is taking way too long for an official statement from Toyota. I wouldn’t let it keep you from buying the truck though

Not to mention the chief engineer in many of his interviews talked about how the truck was engineered to Toyotas commercial grade standards… come on Toyota we want answers now!

This is really dissapointing hearing about these transmission failures. How is Toyota not doing anything about this yet. Enough seem to have failed that it seems it’s time for them to issue an official statement on this.

A recall? I haven’t gotten any alerts for a recall or any official information backing your claims of this.

I thought I’d post this, the engine in these 4th gen tacomas idle so smooth I can’t even tell my trucks running in gear or park. Such a huge improvement over the 3rd gen that would make my head shake it idled so rough. Granted with the a/c on get a little flutter when the compressor kicks on but...
