Theoretically, you're at 80% capacity of the switch, which is the recommended maximum. As others have alluded to a relay is better.

My "pavement princess" doesn't make any noise from the glove box gap. I can't even imagine what you would have to hit to make it move "as is" from the factory. This is no problem for me at all. I miss a good working glove box light a lot more.... :)

Unless your truck has been sitting for an extended interval, that's unusually low for a Tacoma, even with Hybrid power system. You mentioned you weren't sure how low it can go to power your electronics. That battery voltage is something like 50 % charged or less. (depending on the chart used)...

Well, I can't tell you how to add it cause, mine already had it. However, I love the thing. I like the fact that it's on the alarm system, and that the bed cover locks onto it. I doubt this truck will ever see off-road in any real way, But it sure is handy for groceries. I have a "last boks"...
