If you’re going to be towing weight often unfortunately there’s definitely better options then the Tacoma. That being said these transmissions are something.

Removing the airdam won’t be an issue at all. I got a skid for piece of mind but as long as you arnt doing anything that will launch a rock you’ll most likely be fine. Just depends on where you camp.

I do believe we have seen all trims have this issue though so even if different trims have one it isn’t working.

Idk I thought they had some sort of cooling system but i was wrong about it being a dedicated cooler.

I think a lot of transmissions have a way to heat up now probably thermostats like you mentioned
