Some are, some aren't. There are those that care about their work so they put the effort in to be informed and learn as much as they can, and then there are those that are just there to make a paycheque and put in no effort. But this holds true to the entire industry not just Toyota.
So I did this a couple months ago now but I bought the TRD Pro grille from my work, ordered the Rave bracket, and installed it myself. I was stubborn and did not want to have to completely flip my camera image so I was able to get the camera to fit inside the bracket without it being upside...
The T24A has a forged crank, and forged connecting rods to handle the added stress of high low end torque. There is no reason this engine should have reliability issues as long as you keep up with your maintenance. But I would also take a diesel any day. Still wish the diesel engine in the Hilux...
Update: we found the problem. We removed the rear driveshaft and test drove it in 4 high. Vibration was gone. We have a new shaft on order so hopefully that will fix the issue. If it does I will update that here.
Any updates on this issue and if anyone has been able to solve it? We have a 25 on our lot doing this too. Definitely not tires as we have taken a set off another truck that is known to have good balance.
I am suspecting rear prop shaft but no one seems to have a definitive solution to the...
Looks great! This is the tire and wheel combo I am going for on my TRD Off Road. Already have the rims and just ordered the tires in SL today. Only real off-roading I do is gravel roads and the odd muddy/dirt trail when going hunting so I didn't feel I would ever need a C/E rated tire. I also...
Pretty sure they are stickers left on from the assembly line to make sure the correct parts get installed into each truck. They have specific scanners that will tell the person if it is the right or wrong part. Usually they get removed by dealer during PDI inspection.
It was -40 last week where I live and using the remote start to let it warm up for 15 minutes had it warmed up enough to defrost the windshield but it did take a few minutes of driving to get it completely warm but I would consider that normal at that temp. Personally I find the heat works...
Truck looks great!
I have been considering these shocks for a while but my main issue, is what I am after may be hard to find. I like the feel of the stock suspension on pavement, but on rough dirt roads the suspension feels awful above 30mph. I have been trying to see what suspension upgrade...
If you ever decide to go back to 275/70R18s, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are available in SL and weigh barely any more than the stock 265/70R17 BFGs that come on an Off Road. That's as long as you do not need C or E rated tires. That is the route I am thinking of going for tires seeing everything...
So I just took one of the screws out of mine real quick to get a better look at what you are talking about. The bolt has a flat flange head and that flange is larger than the hole it threads into. There really isn't any reason to believe this will be a point of failure. I have seen many vehicles...
Yea all the other parts are non serviceable. You can't repair just the fan or buy the hardware for the motor. If those parts are your concern then it is a non issue. There have been no failures related to hardware used, so Toyota won't fix it or issue a recall in that case.
Any replacement parts or hardware is in the system as a superseded part number(in a separate superseded tab) while the main listing always shows the factory original parts. This is factory original on all 2024 and up Tacomas.
This is the correct hardware that should have been used for the fan shroud:
Part number is 90119-A0105
I would be going back to who repaired the truck and requesting that they install the correct hardware.
I am talking about the hardware. It is likely just random hardware out of a hardware drawer. It isn't the OEM hardware. The one doing the repair likely needed hardware, it wasn't ordered and to do the repair they just went to a bin and pulled out a bolt that threaded in.
Even at my dealer, we...
This has nothing to do with recalls or any safety related concern regarding new vehicles. This is likely human error using incorrect hardware after a collision repair. Toyota themselves has nothing to do with that. That is a concern for that specific body shop/dealer.
Not sure if it is staying that way or if it was just a temporary thing because in a meeting the Toyota reps said they were doing that because of the spring compressor issue but now they are releasing a new compressor tool. Maybe just Tacomas are going to stay as individual pieces? In Canada we...
TRD lift kit should be coming off stop sale soon. New spring compressor part should be shipping to dealers in the States within the next month or so which means both the Tundra and Tacoma lifts will become available again as a dealer installed option and not just a factory installed option. I...
How difficult was it to adjust the aim of them once installed? Not really liking the performance of the AlphaRex double taps and I have been looking around for an alternative that is brighter.
