No concern about performance of oiled. I never said that . They are a PITA. Messy, no fun to clean, you need 2 unless you want to wait hours before installing and the list goes on. Done plenty of oiled filters in my past. Hard pass.
Huge win here. Now I can't wait for the dry filter option. I am in the camp that does not want to hear a puny 4 banger turbo whine. I guess I am old. To know this increases performance and does not make it sound like a rice burner I am all in.
They are not compatible. 2017 4Runner is a Pacific T3 and the new Tacomas are a T6 or Denso 550-0106.
BTW the valve stem material has NOTHING to do with compatibility. They make the same protocol in both rubber and metal many times.
I also posted about this in a different forum. I am at 35K miles and the dealer when doing my recall said I only had 3MM left. Of course they wanted to change them out for me. I passed and taking it to my indy this week to see if they truly are gone or typical dealer making shit up. I do not...
Said they do not appear to be real Nappa but a leatherette. Said when installing several of the connecting straps broke and a zipper. Said shipped with this sticker over the TRD that is leaving a residue and after a lot of different tries still cannot get it to look good. Appears very cheap.
These sadly are not getting very good reviews from a customer that just installed them on another forum. You all may want to find a different supplier.
That is the first thing that would make sense. Maybe they are towing something out back and just can't put bikes on the back of the trailer they are towing or use the bed for them.
This was my college buddies truck. It was so cool. Loved cruisin in this. This is my retro.

This would have been my "retro" style being an 80's kid. I never owned one but friends did and I wanted one. I had friends with full custom Nissan Hardbody trucks and those were cool as well.
You did ask for opinions, right? Sorry my opinion doesn't align with what you wanted to hear. There are zero "retro" mods that look good therefore, ZERO.
