No there’s no glue necessary.
if you’re talking about the thin black plastic frame that holds the actual mirror glass. The frame has a lip that goes around the mirror glass and secures it in place. That goes for both the mirror frames, the OEM and Sumas. That’s the “difficult” part as you have...
Yeah, I can see the heating element being an issue if you live somewhere where you have to deal with frost.
The translucency was caused by me altering the frame. I don’t think it would have been noticeable at all if I hadn’t messed with it. I was worried it would be an issue, but so far it...
It wouldn’t say it was super easy but it wasn’t super difficult either.
The biggest issues were working the mirror into the frame, I actually broke the OEM mirror frame but I was able to epoxy it back together where it cracked without any problems
you also have to cut out a small portion of...
How is it that your roof rack claims to support 1000lbs static and 800lbs dynamic when literally everyone else’s racks are around 700lbs static and 300lbs dynamic?
It seems like they all cite the roof itself as being the limiting factor to the rating not the racks themselves. So what’s so...
Is there a reason you didn’t use the power cables that feed into the fuse box in the passengers side of the engine compartment?
I’m looking to install a switch panel onto my hybrid Tacoma but almost all of the information out there is about the non hybrid or people saying “just use the factory...
If you remove the rear seat back you can gain a good amount of clearance, at least 4-6 inches depending on your car seat. Here is my truck with a Clek Foonf or whatever tf it’s called.
this is with my wife’s seat in a comfortable position for my wife and the car seat at the 2nd most reclined...
Let me start by saying this is not a hit piece or an attempt to get back at Suma over a negative customer service experience. I just want to share my experience with these mirrors. I do like them, but with some major caveats, and if I had known what I know now, I might not have purchased them at...
So you had to manually adjust the mirror to the position you wanted? That fucking blows dude what’s the point of the mirror if it makes it so that you can’t use the electric mirrors? I feel like the issue is the new mirrors are noticeably thicker and since they are convex they make contact with...
I installed these today on my Tacoma. I’m not liking them so far it seems like the only FOV I gained towards my truck. I reached out to Suma to see if maybe mine are defective. I’m pretty sure these mirrors don’t have as much travel around the housing because i dont think they point down as far...
Yeah custom box. Honestly though if I had known I would have to cut out parts of the seat to get it to clear I probably would have gone a different route. Good thing it’s not a lease I guess.
It’s a custom box, the guys over at Street Beat Car Audio in Hayward CA made it for me. I did have to cut some of the foam and plastic from the rear seat to get it to clear the grate though.
JL 10w3 installed behind my rear seat. I had to cut some of the seat plastic and foam to get it to clear the grate but it works and sounds pretty good.
interesting, but honestly, I don’t mind if the cameras aren’t perfectly aligned. I don’t even particularly want a front facing camera; I just want the mirror cameras to help with parking. The Turing radius and blind spots are so bad for me that parking my Tacoma is more difficult than my 1999...
