Update. My new block got dropped in shipping, scrapped and now a new one is on the way. Another week at least.

So my 26 off-road with 1200kms now needs a new shortblock. Apparently there is metal contamination in the oil which they believe has plugged an oil galley. No idea how long this will take. Sounds like dirty block like the tundras or something is letting go inside the engine. Who knows. Toyota...

Truck repaired and back together. They road tested it , drove 30-45 kms and it’s blowing oil again.

My truck is being transported to a different dealer to expedite the diagnosis and repair. Toyota Canada is very aware my position moving forward. It’s been extremely frustrating. They did approve me for a rental and I just got it today. No other updates.

So my local dealer was able to tell me that there is a severe oil leak (duh) coming from the bell housing. So likely rear main seal. Service manager (who I respect) said “It wasn’t leaking. It was POURING out of the bell housing”. So I have a claim in with Toyota Canada. They haven’t offered me...

I have the EKR neoprene and so far they’re good. Go slow with routing the straps for the front bottoms especially with power seats. Also I just used one finger to get the elastic back around the underside clips, with the seat back reclined a bunch and followed around the clip. Easy. removing...

A good quality YouTube video is very helpful. The front seats have a sweet spot in the angle to allow an easier time passing the cover between the seat and base. Also reclining the seat helps get the lower cover straps off. Tips like that are a huge help and should be noted on the video
