Break-in complete. 1015 mi / 1633 km.
Did first oil change today. Installed Fumoto drain valve.
For those that DIY but have not done an oil change yet, some tips:
- Fashion an oil drain "slip 'n slide" to guide the oil into the drain pan. I used cardboard covered with tin foil. The oil does...

Maybe this is the drain hose?
Hi @bsquaredMTB,
Where you able to confirm the hose you photographed is for the A/C drain?
TIA.
From a design perspective, I would have likened Toyota to use a door without a finger lift, that worked on contact. Press-in and release to unlatch. Press closed to latch. The finger lift detracts from the body lines and looks clunky.
If the desire for a locking door is to mitigate against...
I do not recommend the BMS can.

I am now can-free.
Edit,
Some of us drive our trucks in ways that involve high pitch or roll. For those with a can, it would be worthwhile to check and empty before...

As of 01 Jul 2026, the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is under review; this may not be the only factor driving Toyota's announcement, but I'm sure it contributed to...
The following document might be of help.
The attached lists battery cases by group number, CCA rating, physical size and displays their post locations.
Battery Council International (BCI), authored the doc; they are a trade organization for batteries in the US.
Yes, I think you should seriously consider purchasing a truck. I do feel the Tacoma is a great option.
Thinking of the state of construction sites in my area, your current ride would not be suited. Ground clearance issues, occasional mud and debris of all kind would drive you to fits.
It's...
I feel it is the engine engaging the rev limiter. You're bouncing off that as you approach the redline.
Edit,
Spark plugs are due for change at 40,000 mi / 64,000 km. It'd be worthwhile to swap those. Boost can cause items like that to wear a bit faster than they would in a normally aspirated...
I'm aware of a TSB (attached) for 2024 models involving the transmission.

I checked the NHTSA site for recalls and other information on 2025s...
How many miles are on your truck?
I'm still breaking mine in.
FWIW, I have not encountered any odd behavior, lights or codes. Shifts as expected.
Good Luck :please: with your appointment. Hopefully, it's something simple.
This thread reminded me to check my truck for any tracking devices.
Used car dealers install GPS trackers often. New car dealers are installing them more and more. They're used in recovery, either from lot theft or from someone who is missing payments.
Typically, the trackers are installed...
Pass. Carbon fiber aligns more to something like a F150 Super Snake.
The Tacoma is function-oriented. Bits that offer improved field endurance, hauling, towing or climb/crawl capability are welcome. Interior carbon fiber accessories? To most, items like that are not going to be on their wish...
Within days of receiving my truck, I installed the Burger Motorsports oil separator. After one month and a bit over 500 mi / 800 km of service, I removed it yesterday.
If you're familiar with Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) systems and oil separators, you can scroll below for why I'm no...
That you have to repeatedly press the brake and start button for the engine to turn over makes me think something in those supporting connections is loose or failing.
The truck's operating system expects confirmation the brake pedal is pressed before it will allow the engine to start; there's a...
