  1. What do you think of your Toyota dealership?

I'm always amused when some people still think the salesman is your friend and cares what you think, especially after the sale. Salesmen care about one thing, making a sale and getting paid. They are trained to run a script on you. The first thing they do is try to find or fabricate something...
  2. What do you think of your Toyota dealership?

I haven't laughed this hard in years. I can see a restraining order in someone's future.
  3. Is this normal?

Yeah I had a WTF moment the first time I washed the truck and looked on top. New one on me.
  4. Is this normal?

This is the norm on all brands. They extensively use seam sealer in various areas. A machine lays a wide ribbon in places like the roof and brushes on in areas that are not seen. Pop the trunk of a car and you'll see the same wide layer on the sides in that valley around the outside of the trunk...
  5. It seems most Tacoma owners on social media are salty heavy-duty off-road types.

Well as far as I'm concerned anyone can say whatever they want on a forum. I've given up a long time ago being offended or caring if I offend anyone for that matter. The whole country has become far too sensitive. I learned that when I transitioned from 24 years in the military to a civilian...
  6. It seems most Tacoma owners on social media are salty heavy-duty off-road types.

Yes but he never mentioned a Race in it at all. So I don't know what that disclaimer was all about. He mentioned age, occupation, economic status, colors, nationalities, state residents, but not one mention of Race.
  7. It seems most Tacoma owners on social media are salty heavy-duty off-road types.

Yep, it's Friday. Time for another JDB riddle.
  8. Anybody Coming from a Maverick?

Between this review and my test drive, I was sold on the Tacoma. I did 1 1/2 year research of ALL the small and mid size trucks before I bought. And as far as transmissions go, I don't even know it's there. It's very smooth and no hunting for gears. Also keep in mind that the SR has 50...

  11. Trusting Toyota Service Department

Was this your first time at a dealership (of any brand)? Let corporate know. That way you'll discover if corporate really cares or not about their customers. Some brands do, some don't. I bought a Hyundai once back in 2009. Car was missing the rear package cover. Dealership admitted it was...
  12. Lesson Learned: you can still lock your keys in your truck

I keep the spare hard key in a magnetic key box hidden somewhere on the outside of the truck and the spare FOB hidden inside the truck. Low tech is the quickest and most reliable.
  13. Satisfied, so far

I also have "Down-Trimmed" in recent years. I've had vehicles with all the doo dads and I've found they are just not worth the bucks plus the lower trims seem more comfortable to me.
  14. Condenser struck by (something) Toyota will not replace under warranty

Thanks to anti-consumer, pro government meddling regulations that on one hand require pie in the sky "I just pulled a number out my butt" mpg standards that necessitate lighter vehicles and the contradictory regulations requiring a lot of weight be added with mandated nanny systems, no...
  15. Spare tire marks undercarriage

That sounds like a good idea. I would spray some Armor All or the like on them so they don't stick to the tire when you drop the tire. Lacking that maybe some type of non absorbent foam material.
  16. Spare tire marks undercarriage

Every truck I've owned of any brand with underbed spare has left marks of some shape on the spare tire. I suppose placing a cushioning material between those friction points would prevent that.
  17. What is this striation pattern/zebra streak on my glass?

Never heard of that before. I've been using Rain-X since it was invented decades ago and never had a problem with it. Works great. Back in the 1980s I had to travel from AZ to MS. A storm followed me the whole way. Heavy rain. Everyone I saw had their wipers going on high and sticking their...
  18. Banks Pedal Monster

I agree they make the throttle respond as it should have been from the start. But I'm wondering if anyone who has ever used any brand of these devices has noticed increased downshifting. I once put a Pedal Commander on my Challenger and set it to a high position. Drove it for a while and not...
  19. Tracker installed by dealer

Well since we're throwing dealer's names out there. I did my usual extensive research with reviews and such before I bought. I drove 150 miles away to Avondale Toyota (Phoenix suburb). Why? NO preloads (add ons). None, zip, nada. Discounted price. Business model-you deal with one person through...
  20. New wiper blades from the dealership.

I went to the dealer and got them yesterday. They wanted $30 for the pair. I mentioned they are $20 online on their web site so he knocked 20% off. The parts guy was not familiar with the part numbers I supplied and muttered something about not looking like they were in stock when he was on the...
