Never liked to get close to empty so it's always been "quarter tank? look for gas" for me.
Depending on the computer to tell you when to get gas seems like a good way to get in some unexpected hiking.
Hi, just got my SmartCap EVO Sport on and thought I'd start a thread on accessories.
What's out there and what's on your wish list?
Mine:
Roof rack
Removable screen for wing window opening or fan for sliding window on Sport.
And this, of course:
ft-lb x 12 = in-lb.
Looks like your wrench is minimum 3.7 ft-lb so you should be ok if that's where you set it.
I didn't see any available near me that went that low in ft-lb so I did an in-lb wrench.
I put mine together yesterday. Picked up a 20-200 inch-pound torque wrench from O'Reily's Auto Parts because my existing in-lb wrench didn't go low enough. (Am now the proud owner of 5 torque wrenches).
Today's tasks are to get the gasket on and mount it on the truck.
Unfortunately, they were...
There's a bar meter under the DTE number. On mine it has been fairly accurate (fill up at quarter-tank is ~13.5 gal). I just treat the DTE as entertainment.
Wouldn't mind if there were a way to hide it. Maybe a piece of black tape?😁
I do miss the dial gauge on my 2013. The graduations were 1...
Finally did a run to visit my children. Round trip of 1,081 mi. 1/3 country highways in mountains (Show Low AZ to Phoenix via Globe). The rest interstate (I10 from Phoenix to Riverside CA)
averaged 23.5 mpg. My 2016 Prerunner 4-cylinder used to get around 20.9.
Now for the fun part.
Had the...
Yes. It's in the settings for the instrument display. Here's an overview of how to make changes.
There is a "fuel economy" setting which controls whether to use average since reset or average for trip.
There is an acceleration setting for the cruise control with high/mid/low.
Loctite and JB Weld both have epoxy glues designed for plastics. Loctite also has a 2-component superglue for plastics. I've used the Loctite epoxy, and it worked well, but it wasn't in a high stress application.
Don't know what to tell you. I was shocked the first time I checked the actual fill-up to fill-up mileage because it was on a 130+ mile run in the mountains with lots of up and down grades. I was expecting 20 or less MPG.
If you have somewhere that fits, try this.
Find a 60 mile or so stretch of...
