2025 National Parks Adventure #1 - The North Loop
I had an opportunity for a client visit in Kansas City, MO, so I decided to make it a road trip. Yes, it's winter, but I own a freaking Tacoma 4G, right?
The main goal of the trip was to meet the client and do some work. The secondary goal was...
Happy New Year!
I've put 9,100 on the odometer and have been so busy, I haven't checked these boards in what feels like months. Regardless, I'll be posting a couple of updates.
As I said before, I plan on visiting as many National Parks as possible, which isn't as easy when you live on the...
Be careful... the dimples don't fit every extender out there. Mine, for instance, is not an OEM, so it had to be installed in a slightly different spot.
Check VIN matches what your dealer allocated to you
Check cold air intake cover isn’t loose
Check all four mounting points on roof have covers
Check tailgate alignment
Check bed scene lighting works
Check front seat floors for A/C leaks
Check for front license plate bracket
Check for window...
Looks like mine. I removed it a couple of weeks ago as we've been carrying way more stuff in the bed than I had anticipated. But thinking about putting it back in soon.
Love both vehicles. Too bad they're a) electric only and b) made by a manufacturer that talks a good talk, but will likely not be in business long. Rivian, Fisker, and some of the others couldn't make it work, so why would I ever trust this company with my money?
They're solid - not going anywhere.
Will they rust? I think eventually, yes. The grooves on the step itself are going to be great to get mud, dirt and snow off your boots, but eventually the paint will wear off and New York will eat them. Eventually.
I bit the bullet and ordered them yesterday. They got here today (actually, one of the two sets did, the only only arrives on Saturday).
I installed the two that came on the passenger side, where most of the complaining originates lol
The lag on your bluetooth isn't a Toyota issue so much as a technology issue; it actually lags less than aftermarket adapters I've used in the past, but it's still noticeable and annoying.
Nice truck!
Thank you for sharing this. I ordered them. Now I'm debating whether to just install them on the right side of the truck because that's where the ladies sit...
You nailed it. That's not a Toyota issue, it's a "poor technology being rushed to market because $" issue. And I agree, mine sucks too. I call it the phone heater, because that's the feature at which it performs best.
Thank you - I saw those, and can't figure out how in the world they would mount to my OEM rock rails... and I've looked at every picture available. I appreciate the input though!
I haven't seen this posted yet, so I figured I'd ask.
I love my TH rock rails and have no intention of getting rid of them. And since I'm not getting rid of my wife or daughter either, I am hoping there's a potential solution out there to help them get in my truck without replacing the rock...
I watched every single 4G youtube video known to mankind before I picked up my Trailhunter.
I can count on one hand the number of videos I've watched since. Been too busy enjoying the hell out of my truck to care.
TFL is worried about nothing but views lately - and that, my friends, tells you...
