Did your bumper come with the relocation kit? If you look at the install video starting ~19:00 he shows it. I can see how the relocation could cause its own problems if the solenoid itself sits too far out and hits the grill shutters.
I just posted this on another thread and figured I'd copy and paste here....
I'll be doing a full write up on my CBI Super Sport Covert bumper once I get it installed. It came last Thursday (ordered 11/22/24). This goes on an Off Road. I have no problem installing it myself but was a little...
I'll be doing a full write up on my CBI Super Sport Covert bumper once I get it installed. It came last Thursday (ordered 11/22/24). This goes on an Off Road. I have no problem installing it myself but was a little perturbed that there was no packing list or documentation whatsoever in the...
I'll speak up in defence of these. They're nicely molded rubber and aren't going to fall out on their own. I would freely admit they're only for aesthetic purposes but the open frame in the back has been one of my visual points of irritation ever since getting the truck. The plugs clean the...
CBI must have heard me dissing them b/c they shipped my bumper today. I'm headed out for a few days but it should be here Thursday and I'll post some photos and initial thoughts when I get back home.
I have the CBI Super Stock Covert on order. I obviously don't have it yet so can't speak to quality or ease of installation but just know they have long lead times. I ordered mine the end of November and it hasn't shipped yet. I knew this when I ordered it but it's still frustrating.
I...
I agree that electric heaters aren't the best in a mobile environment unless you have shore power. The Propex heaters sure are nice but I just can't bring myself to spend the money. I spent $200 on my cheap Chinese heater set up and although it was a pain to get dialed in, once I did it...
Sorry for the late response but here are my thoughts and what I've ended up doing with my Lone Peak camper.
I had high hopes for the AC inverter in the Tacoma but my hopes were dashed even before getting it when I found out that there are a couple of deal-killers in the mix. Keep in mind this...
Here's a video I took of all the different lighting configurations I have. You could probably guess this but the light bar is a piece of junk. That's to be expected when I bought the whole grill w/lights for $215 on a Black Friday deal. The light bar basically is just a huge floodlight, good...
IDK. I still think they're the exact same units. The Amazon one comes with the lattice to hold the letters not installed, but I bet the Aspire will come the same way. My Amazon one even came with the exact same pieces of styrofoam to help protect the tabs. There are units on Amazon that can...
I bought this one off Amazon (light bar version w/raptor lights) for less than the Aspire Auto w/no lights. IMHO there are a bunch of vendors all selling the exact same item. Buying from Aspire maybe you'll have better support if you have questions but other than that I'd be inclined to just...
I've got the Westcott spacer on my front end. Raised the front end by an inch or so and I really haven't noticed any difference in ride quality. We'll see when I get my bumper and winch. I may end up replacing the spacer with stouter springs like I did in the rear....
I love it! We throw out terms and just assume the world knows what we're talking about. It's certainly not a dumb question if you've never heard the term before.
It's nothing to do with the winch though. The "dead pedal" is simply the foot rest on the left side of the driver's compartment...
Yes, but I wouldn't think of them so much as a secondary spring as I would a soft landing although Timbren does refer to them as "spring helpers"in some of their marketing. They're hollow and will squish before bottoming out. Timbren's website does a good job explaining how they work.
I agree with your line of reasoning. I was the guinea pig for this little spring experiment but knowing what I know now I would have went with the 821's. That said, I'm happy with the 819's and doubt I'll trade them out at this point. I may be hitting the stops every once in a while but with...
Tons of good information in this thread. As always I'd recommend giving Dobinsons a call and asking their recommendation but just based on your description I'd guess you would want their lightest spring, which would be the C59-817V (they actually do make one lighter but it's for a stock load)...
