Ya the turning radius takes a bit to get used to for sure. ( i had a short box tacoma last time and I don't remember it being as bad. My truck came with the brake controller actually but none of my trailers have electric brakes.....maybe someday.

Yes, mine looked like those. You do have to remove the rail for your bed cleats and it gets bolted back on those "s" clamps about a inch lower

Yes, a little but after the mats relaxed it was fine. They do not rub now.

Like along the edge of the front of the bed but more toward the bed if that makes sense

I installed mine close to the bed side. There is a weather strip on the cover itself that it will cover.
