Some here like the no frills, utilitarian nature of the SR5. To come on here and tell people not to get one because it doesn’t suit your needs is a bit in bad taste. Ultimately, you should have researched the trim levels prior to buying.
You’re overthinking it, my fellow Taco enthusiast. I’m sure it’s just fine, I believe it’s just a matter of gearing. Wait till those beaches open up and enjoy. Can’t wait to get mine on the sand sometime this summer.
You sound like a royal prick. Definitely get out of the Tacoma and stay in the Mercedes. Suits your type better. Laughable to compare a 200k G “wagen” to a Tacoma.
Your spec looks very nice. Mine is a 50k OR with the upgrade package. Definitely where the value is IMO. Doesn’t have the rarity and “cool” factor that yours does but I’m happy none the less
Compared to an 80k+ Mercedes coupe, yeah it’s gonna feel a bit different. It’s a truck. But it drives very well for a truck. I think that’s the point.
Coming from a 2020 3 series, this truck drives very well. No one is pretending it’s a luxury vehicle but for a Tacoma, this one is leaps and bounds above the previous generations.
I haven’t noticed anything egregious yet. Engine runs pretty smooth. I run premium fuel, not sure if that makes a difference. Speculating but possibly the advanced timing negates that? Who knows. I imagine if it’s something unreasonable there will be a fix in time.
Anyone else experience the RPMs dip from a stop once you hit about 2200 RPM? It will hit the RPM and then drop just a bit and then continue gaining revs. I wish it was a bit more linear in its power delivery off the jump. Not a big deal by any means but wondering if this is normal operation? I’m...
I must be in the minority to prefer a raked truck. I think it gives an aggressive stance and obviously is better for payload, towing, and MPGs. I think the TRD Pro stance is perfect. Some day I’ll look into achieving that with my OR.
Yeah, I’m sure the ARB are more hardy but it also appears that you’d need the bumper to pair with it. I’m getting the OEM Toyota attachments as a little bit of truck bling, no more, no less. They’ll be used infrequently, if at all. ARB are definitely the way to go if you plan on using them...
