Looks interesting! I’d love a storage solution that would fill an otherwise unused space. I just would hope it doesn’t interfere with rear passengers. Hopefully enough headroom. The flip down function seems useful and would allow for easier reaching while in the front seats. I really like that...
Great question. Please post when you have the answer. I wonder if they’ll give you the oil too.
I did do my own 1k oil change and added the Valvomax valve for future self oil changes.
Watch this video. It does show you where to connect the red wire. It’s a harness in the front. Easily accessible. The video shows ground being connected to a place only accessible by taking off the bumper, but you can pretty much ground anywhere.
I suppose if you don’t have the pins, like this...
I would suggest not buying the Tacoma Lifestyle kit. It’s overpriced for what it is. They all function the same but just behind a different name.
These are my cheap amazon versions that I installed myself. I tinted them myself also. The white LED bars were just too much. Needed a more oem look...
The problem is the kit you bought. It requires you to use an add a fuse. And you may have plugged into a fuse that does turn on even while the truck is off.
The other kits just plug directly into the DRL and turn signal harness. Only turns on when those are on. No issues with random on/offs...
One of the first things I added to my 25’ Tacoma, even though I have a power tailgate and trifold tonneau.
My neighbor is missing his tailgate on his 3rd gen and I’ve seen way too many Tacomas without tailgates. This is my first truck, so at first I thought it was by choice to have no tailgate...
***I am not mechanically inclined. I have a career in healthcare and I do not have any experience working on cars. I am very good at watching videos and googling.***
I ordered them (Amazon) and installed them. Initially was gonna try to just get the OEM part out without taking off the bumper...
Oh! I’ll have to do that! I thought it was the gasket to keep the water out.
You’ve had no issues with the power tailgate after folding the flap down?
I installed this same tonneau onto my off road with power tailgate and the tailgate won’t shut or open without my partially lifting the tonneau a bit. The rubber seems to be hindering the tailgate for some reason. I wonder what I’m doing wrong.
no that totally makes sense. I wanted to keep the functionality of the gasket, so I didn’t try folding it back. But I would think it would just keep curling back to its original form. Sounds kind of annoying. I reached out to RC. Hopefully there’s a solution.
sorry. I know this is an old thread but I have a question. I did just buy the OR premium and received the RC fold up tonneau, like yours.
I installed it after watching a few videos and reading the instructions, but I can’t get the latch to close over the power lift gate. So it’s not secured...
