  1. Deactivate Auto Parking Brake on 2024 Tacoma -- how to DIY instructions

??ā€ā™‚ļø a parking pawl is not part of the brakes. It’s in the transmission and all automatics have it. To that point, do I worry about a parking pawl failing or wearing out - never! Should the automatic parking brake be used at all times - Yesā€¼ļø logic of using a parking brake to save a pawl in the...
  2. Deactivate Auto Parking Brake on 2024 Tacoma -- how to DIY instructions

Best to leave it on and use it. A parking brake that is in use all the time won’t fail when you do want to use it in an emergency. Parking or emergency brakes should always be applied, that way it also gives you an idea as to when you may need brake work. Electronic emergency brakes are amazing...
  3. Vibration and noice when engaged 4h

Owners manual says it. Don’t drive in 4WD on dry pavement. Says only for tracks that allow for wheel slippage. Do as you want, but it is not good for a part time system. Want to drive in 4WD on pavement? Then you need an AWD (with a central differential) Actuators if you must ā€œexerciseā€ them can...
  4. Shock Top Blow Out Fix

 agree with both of you. The fact that the aftermarket needs to come out with something like that so quickly to solve a problem on a brand new model is concerning. To that end, you'd think Toyota will fix the problem soon enough with a recall.
  5. Trailhunter Skid Plate fit other models? Aftermarket air dam?

I’d also love a good quality plastic cost effective skid plate. For my driving I don’t need a $500 aluminum skid plate, but would like a better one than the OE skid plate.
  6. What is this “P” in the Multi-information display?

Park assist - it’s in the owners manual - page 85. always a good idea to look over your owners manual on the second biggest purchase you’ll make in life.
  7. 3 minute amber LED turn signal swap (no tools required)

I switched mine as well, they were in on sale for prime day. I bought the switchbacks, impressive at night you can see the amber signal reflecting in the road, they are really bright, would never see that with an incandescent bulb.

  10. AC dripping cold water in drivers side floor?

Thought most were from the Guanajuato factory - didn't think many or any were from Baja... good to know. Anyway, I didn't take photos, but looks perfect when I took a look at it. I don't want to jinx it but at 6000km (3700miles) no issues with it. My bed caps stay down, body lines seem fine...
  11. AC dripping cold water in drivers side floor?

It's a build date of February 2024 (02/24) And yes it is a 3TY - but aren't all the '24 Tacoma's built in Mexico now?
  12. AC dripping cold water in drivers side floor?

I couldn’t resist based on this post - went and pulled the cover off under the knee airbag on the driver side to inspect the HVAC box for cracks, None found, looked perfect. From descriptions, seems to be an issue directly from factory, but wonder how many happen over time.
  13. Vibration and noice when engaged 4h

If you want to engage 4WD once in a while, fine - do it on a dirt road not on dry pavement, even in a straight line Small steering inputs still creates differences in speeds between wheels. that said, engaging 4WD once in a while is old school thinking and not necessary. The reason it ā€œwasā€...
  14. Vibration and noice when engaged 4h

You don’t do it on drive pavement it’s in your owners manual too (Page 404) You also should have never driven your 4Runner in 4WD on drive pavement either Unless it had ā€œfull timeā€ 4WD. It’s well known you simply don’t do that in a part time 4WD system of any kind. You were wrong to do it on...

  17. Steering Wheel Not Locking

Pretty sure mine doesn’t lock, I know I’ve straightened my steering wheel on my Tacoma many times after the truck is shut off to install the steering club. Pretty sure many manufacturers have gone away with steering wheel (column) locks, don’t serve any purpose anymore (Well maybe for towing)...
  18. Radar Detector - MirrorTap and BlendMount on Digital Rearview Mirror?

While I totally agree with you, I’ve bought the adapter, used the USB C adapter that came with it, there’s tons of room to tuck it away in the front camera cover on the ā€˜24 Tacoma. That said, if you wanted to buy a further ā€œslimmerā€ adapter there are these on Amazon. Think you may be waiting...
  19. Radar Detector - MirrorTap and BlendMount on Digital Rearview Mirror?

Dongar makes a power adapter plugs into mirror and gives you a USB A or C outlet to plug into. It’s made for dash cams, but why not for radar detectors - assuming the power supply to them is USB. But question, it’s a Tacoma not a Corvette, you really need a radar detector?
