Following up on this thread -- can anyone say if the 8in screen and 14 in screen units are directly interchangeable regarding the surrounding dash trim? meaning: is the dash trim opening the same width or will you have to buy new trim as well when going 8-->14. or 14-->8. ??
Tried 'em. Look good but fragile. Dismounting and remounting a tire peels them up. Winter weather peels them up. the edges come loose and look crap after that.
i went with the plain foil backed foam pads from amazon

and the Victory engine cover with Dynamat on underside.
They both help "somewhat"/
Good call. I have already added underhood noise damping tiles from amazon. That recording is from inside engine bay for obvious reasons. It's still a lound nasal rattlefest though.
Vehicle is 2025 Tacoma SRT sport with ~2,200 miles.
The engine always had with a mild rattle under load (acceleration or hills) from week 1 and it's gotten louder.
I would like to know if your truck sounds similar when acceelrating or climbing a hill ??
This is an under hood recording...
I installed one of these with some 1/8in killMat rubber sound matting on underside. Makes a significant reduction in injector noise / engine clatter under acceleration.

This post is not a debate about the puposes of telematics communicating data back to a toyota service center ,or legality of same -- only a how-to for those interested.

I can confirm that with chin spoiler removed, a truck with Sport skid plate will get a significant howling wind noise that sounds like tire hum between 35 and 50 mph. You might think your tires are faulty. It's definitely wind moving through the front bumper or arms. Replacing the spoiler...
I insulated the underside of the hood on my 2024 with a kit of generic expanded-foam & aluminum foil squares from amazon. For short money this reduces the 'valve clatter' (injector?) noise by more than 50%. Specifically the treble half of the clatter goes away. It's miles better IMO than...
