it really did look like the breaks just over did it, like that thing was getting the piss revved out of it...super high rpm or at least it sounded like it with no wheels moving.
its crazy, 10-15 years ago without these YouTube channels or social-you'd never hear about this issue... now someone can post a video and have half a million views in a matter of 5 days.
What broke? The automatic disconnecting differential system (ADD) in the front differential.
The ADD disconnects the front axles and hub assemblies from the drive shaft at the differential when the vehicle is in 2-wheel drive mode, eliminating the need to disconnect them manually. It also...
I completely agree I was just generalizing and I’m not the only one who thought that they way they started using the truck was a bit extreme. @JimS posted the break in cycle directly from this vehicles manual early in this chat and shows they went against the manufacturer recommendations...
vehicle should not have popped like that for sure. but ive been around cars and mechanics for a while. metal is still metal, it needs head and cold cycles and stress cycles. thats just my opinion, and im curious if you where to ask real mechanics their professional opinion if they would have...
couldn't agree more. I mean if any company took as long as Toyota did to put out a vehicle and kept at it for 10 years im sure they'd be just as reliable. but taking this long with driveshafts blowing out is no bueno. im really curious as to why this supply chain stuff has gotten so bad over...
thats because there's none on the lot and they aren't producing a lot so they can't sell a lot. my local dealerships have them for about a day tops and they are sold.
I agree. but what's crazy is that while we all complain about price these things sell as soon as they hit the lot so supply and demand. people are buying them....
id rather them tourture test it and make it public. we Toyota fan boys are buying on reliability. Toyota loses in a lot of categories but if this one fails it's brand hopping.
sounds awesome to me like a high out put motor. listen to all turbo diesels and high end BMW's, gtrs ext. looks like Toyota took some pages out of the bmw playbook with the 2.4.... I wonder how much boost this engine puts out....?
