I need to see a sunroof model in person. Or a better review of it and how it affects headroom for front and back passengers.
It seems the sunroof part where the ceiling dips down is over the leg area of back seat passengers so should not affect headroom.
Here in Canada you basically pay $8k for a trailer brake if you want it to come with a Tacoma. It is on the Sport+ model which is a $7500 option from SR5. Plus you are saddled with a sunroof. Add tax it’s over 8k.
What is a good aftermarket one? Can you have the Toyota one added at dealership?
I do not want to pay US prices. I say if one wanted a red SR5 with power tailgate and some other options, one might think $7k more than a Cdn SR5 is worth it. They should be able to choose. Since that option’s not available in Canada.
Then they should let those Canadians able to buy trucks in US and honour the warranty. I also heard they are afraid of the power tailgate failing more often in Canadian weather. Which makes little sense as the northern states get the same winters.
I just wish Toyota didn’t rip us off on colour options. 30 min south of me in the US you can get a SR5 in Supersonic red if you want. I’d like that in a SR5 or base Sport.
I actually got turned off buying the Sport Premium due to no power tailgate and the fact that they force you buy it to...
The update from dealer is Feb 6-8 they get a black SR5 in to look at. Their yearly allocation is now at 65, last week it was 54. They have a few models coming in March, TRD OR orange, no blue yet. I don’t really remember for the shades of grey colours.
I will look, feel, sit in, drive and...
I agree on the price. In BC on vehicles over $55k the tax rate jumps to 15% from 12%. So if I buy, I’ve reduced my choice to either the base SR5 or Sport package. Mostly for the colour choice of blue crush. Otherwise it will be a black SR5. On the sport I’ll pick the black seats as the grey...
No power tailgate, is this confirmed? I may be out, this truck is becoming a joke. They show us all these features then cut them out for Canada? Sway bar was one thing, then the mirror, now this.
When I’ve tried to buy a Toyota truck same story, advertise one thing then not in Canada. Was...
On the Canadian configurator just in the last few days it adds 1800+ to any of the upgrades from the SR5. Don’t know why, it’s not the freight, $100 a/c tax, or $990 dealer fee all that’s already in. It does not add up to the taxes.
What is it?
I like the Supersonic Red but only available on the Sport Premium on the Toyota Canada site. On a dealer site it’s available across all trims. I’m assuming the dealer site is wrong but l will have to go in and check at my dealer.
There is no supply chain shortages anymore. Kia (who buys a Kia?) was caught in Canada artificially creating a shortage, including parking sold cars in a storage lot for months to a year or more. The national sleaze (did I spell sales right?) manager was video recorded speaking at a dealers...
This will likely be in the $75,000 range in Canada. Before taxes. New car prices are crazy high, but I suppose there is enough people with the money to buy them.
Weird option set ups, trailer brake controller don’t come on Sport, need Sport + or Premium. Problem is in BC tax rate kicks up by 3% to 15% over $55k. So Premium is $71,650 with camera, sill protection and chrome tips. For basically softex seats and a 14” screen over the +.
Definitely...
I talked to my dealer contact today. He’s a GM of sales and leasing (not just a sales person). Here’s what he told me.
They are getting a SR5 Double Cab 4x4 as a demonstrator February 6-8th. Then if I like it I can place my order and deposit for model and colour. They have an allocation of...
Yes they do, at least from the Motormouth review I saw. Zack’s wife Andrea says all models do and is seen pumping the lever manually to raise the seat, watch from 14:15 in of the review:
I’m glad the Tacoma has gone back to its roots and a 4 cylinder. Want a turbo, get a Tundra. The small trucks have long become bloated - I know it’s “mid size” size.
Yes we get shafted by many manufacturers with Toyota one of the leaders in that regard. Back in 2007 when the new Tundra was out it was advertised in a medium blue (Speedline blue I think it was called). They even had life size cardboard cut outs in that colour. Went to buy one, was told by...
