Will definitely research it well before I buy and apply so if you have heard any negative things, I would be open to it. I use one on my supercharged 2005 Tacoma and it has made a huge difference in keeping the intercooler clean which in turn does well at keeping charge temps down.

I just had to order a spare from a Toyota dealer on eBay, these are hard to find! I thought I was done with the oil crap once AFE came out with a dryfit for my 2005, ugh!

So to be clear, these are K&N oil type filters? If so, I am not a fan of those in general because it is easy to under or over oil them. On my 2005 I run a set of AFE dryfit filters that I rotate out every oil change, rinse and then dry, no oil. I am wondering if you use this hydrophobic filter...

Darn, this might actually be a deal breaker for me. I spend a lot of time out and about when rain and snow moves in. In your case, was it a pull over and wait a bit thing, or did you need a tow / visit to the dealer?

I have a Trailhunter on order, get it in about 2-3 weeks. This is incredibly concerning, is a major safety issue and I am blown away it has not been fixed yet midway though 2026. That is recall level bad, I hope my truck does not do this.
