I have a Redarc BCDC Alpha in my truck for my campers house battey, and luckily it has a backcharging function. So I can choose to back charge 50 amps into my starting battery from my camper. I dont need to do it for very long though.
Since these truck mostly start off of the hybrid system, I...
So my guess is that the harness is largely the same between the hybrid and non hybrids. So there is probably a plug for an alternator if I were to guess.
Based off of what I am seeing, I bet a recall is going to be coming on this. They changed a pretty major component within a year of...
I saw the new 4Runner at the Overland Expo and the Toyota guys were confused too. They thought maybe because it was a prototype. Its kind of concerning to me, as it would first appear that the hybrid system wasnt providing enough juice to the 12v battery at times.
Something else I have found...
It reduces glare form headlights and the sun. I read through a ton of reviews before I decide on which set I wanted, and people seem to praise the blue tinted ones. I read the reviews on various Reddit posts vs just the website just in case. People seem to love them, and I had intended to get a...
Thanks guys! I have definitely been working long weekend to get installs done. Redarc is going in this weekend, and getting some suspension and winch work done next week.
I will have a separate video coming on the bed, and the camper itself.
I know this is crazy excessive compared to what...
I don’t spam my videos, because I know that drives people crazy. But this video is something I have been looking forward to releasing for years now. This has been a long term plan, even before I knew it would be the 4th gen Tacoma.
This thing is seriously one of the coolest out there. A few more...
Update: Nearly 6 months later Toyota did get a replacement for me. They only had a compressor at first, but then Toyota swapped the part out with an entire replacement of the compressor itself and the controller. They instructed the tech to ship it back so they can break it down and find out...
I used some Airlift air bags I had for my Fj laying around, and they did the trick for a while. Once I get the truck back from getting the Alucab and some other work done, I will put some Dobinson springs in the rear. Those are what I have used in my Fj, and they are a very good spring.

I Took My Tacoma Trailhunter Off Road For 100 Miles In Canyonlands
The time has come! Kuat was awesome to help me get a rack to enjoy the season with my truck. But the long term plan was always to get an Alucab camper, and some other top secret stuff done.
And that time has come.
The Kuat rack is full loaded, aside from the newly launched enclosure panels that...
Ordered mine right away. I really appreciate you going for fitment. Seriously one of my favorite mods I have done on my Fj and we missed it in the Tacoma on a recent trip.
That is excellent news. I put air springs on mine last night, which arent ideal but will work for now. In December/January when the truck gains 600lbs I will certainly need a rear spring solution. And I am a big fan of Dobinson springs on my Fj.
The OTT tune on my Fj Cruiser made such a huge difference. Curious to hear what people think of these tunes. This applied to a hybrid will get over 500lb-ft of torque no doubt. Pretty nuts!
Is there any potential to tune the hybrid systems on these? I would love it if eco mode would actually...
Yeah thats just a screw on cap over where the Fox bump stops sit on the Pro models. After market stuff should be coming along from various companies soon which will be nice to just thread on.
Trailhunter does not have the springs in the rear it should have. Its a vehicle designed to carry...
It worked previously. I went to air up the tires and suddenly the deflate valve was stuck open. So as the compressor is trying to inflate my tires, a valve is apparently stuck open allowing air to dump at the same time.
Right before a weeklong trip of course. ??‍♂️
I took out the compressor...
