Yes OEM tires are cheap and meant to look good and get you off the lot. However, 12,000 miles is low even for them. My only other ābrand newā truck, a 2012 Ram 1500 had Goodyear Wranglers that I put 30,000 miles on and were probably good to be changed by 35,000 miles.
My Volkswagens had...
Warranty as far as Iām concerned. Tail lights do not pop off on 4wd trucks when Iām off road. Although until now Iāve only had experience with Dodge and GM trucks.
My door panels have scratched super easily and inexplicably in places where I donāt even touch them! I had the driverās side replaced under warranty but now I just gave up as the scratches just reappeared.
Overall I am happy with my truck, but wish Iād had a chance to experience the legendary...
My favourite Dakota is the 98-99 quad cab 4x4 with the ever reliable 5.2 litre engine in it. Rare find as in 2000 they went to the 4.7 motor which is junk.
These trucks are very rare to find with low miles and in good condition but Iād own today.
I hear you, that was pre Mercedes design and tech. Before head management sold out.
I too miss driving my ā98 K1500 Silverado with a bush bar on it. Other traffic treated me with respect, no cut offs, they all signaled etc. lol. Funny how other driverās skills improve with an old pick up in...
Chrysler Dodge had a chance in the 90ās as they were successful and making good inroads in quality. Top brass got greedy and sold out an American institution for personal gain. Mercedes not known for quality electronics and it got worse from there.
Just a couple general thoughts:
Love/hate feelings on Dakota as they stared the mid size market. But it also started the end of the āsmallā pickup. I miss small trucks.
If no 6ā bed option, itās a non starter.
Ram does not have a good rep on diesels, except the HD Cummins.
Donāt like the...
Impressive, youāve had a Tacoma for 42 years since theyāve been around for 30 years.
I agree with you, I like my Tacoma and drive and enjoy it everyday. For my experience, Iām happy with the almost 19 mpg in City driving that I get. I love the 6ā bed no other mid size truck has - hauled...
@307Taco I was about to point out the same thing. Total click bait which voids the resulting video premise. It was one warranty replaced transmission. Nothing to see here folks.
Disappointed in TFL they resort to click bait tactics, I thought they were better than that. I guess they like...
I like the Heritage blue. But I also like the stylish and modern flagship model Wavemaker blue.
Good to see a move away from the shades of gray big brother (auto industry) has been sending us.
I was up in Alaska in July as well, you are lucky to get that last picture of Denali, when I was there the clouds did not part. I came up from Anchorage to Talkeetna only for a day though to see Denali (in my buddyās ā18 Tundra).
Stop tempting me with colours. Here in western Canada, Iād have to get the Sport Premium to get the 6ā bed, leather interior and trailer brake controller (the upgraded OR only comes in 5ā bed). Iād then buy new 18ā OR wheel takeoffs from a brand new 4Runner or hybrid, people sell them all the...
A well presented position @Reconsnake . Certainly makes sense and at the least presents a perspective to ponder and discuss that beats just seeing the problem and complaining.
If this is the case, Toyota should have educated such a sea change to its customers.
It varies in different regions, we were slow to get them here in western Canada. You had to have an allocation initially to buy one in 2024 and we donāt get all the colours etc. (i.e. only premium trims get Supersonic red).
Yes, MSRP on almost all Toyotas. A year ago when I got mine there was (is?) still a shortage on some in demand ones, the mini-van, Rav 4ās and Corollas basically were arriving pre sold! The only one you could possibly bargain on was the Tundra.
YMMV, here nobody beats Dodge dealers for sliminess. Maybe things have changed, I havenāt bought a new Dodge in 13 years. In 2023 when the last new LX cars were being sold, they were so giddy to have something people wanted they were all about mark ups and sleazy tactics.
As for Toyota itās...
Good call guys, I didnāt even look under my hood when I had mine done. It has been a month and a half so likely fine but Iāll look at my brake reservoir tomorrow.
To the OP, keep us posted on this.
I first experienced HUD in a 2007 corvette. Wasnāt a fan back then and still am not.
I guess it kind of caught on as I find random vehicles with it, like a former co-workerās 2018 Mazda 3.
