  1. HUD info updated! Google maps now produces directions in the HUD!

Mine stopped after 1-yr trial. It was not there yesterday. Will have to take another look.
  2. Tacoma "Trial Services" what do I lose?

The only thing I miss is the app remote start. I don't carry the fob, and the distance is pretty crappy anyway. For me, it's not worth the $15. But what you will get if you cancel is a ridiculous beg screen every time you start the truck. My Ford did this for about a month and went away. I'm...
  3. Knocking Noise while idle

  4. Dirt Hauling Results - 1 Cubic Yard of Soil

A little less than a yard, compost/topsoil mix. You could feel the weight but she handled it without complaint.
  5. Anyone experiencing frustration with the 14inch infotainment?

I agree. The mode button sucks and the favorites no picnic either. The interface could (should) be sooo much better. I also get an occasional failure for the cameras to come on. It's only happened a few times and a restart corrects, but still.
  6. Lomax in Black Urethane

Purchased from Tonneoucovered.com - $1,015 delivered. Installation took less than 30 minutes. Stick on weather stripping, attach side rails to the existing bed rails, then panels clip into place. Tailgate functions properly.
  7. Tonneau cover MPG increase?

For those that want the answer without watching the video +1 on MPG.
  8. Rats 'N' Mice!

I use mothballs in my company car (Escape) as squirrels were eating the wires. They have worked so far. On occasion, the odor does permeate the cab and brings back memories of Grandma's bedroom.
  9. Power Tailgate Issue -- doesn't latch when closing and needs manual push to fully close

Hmm, good point on the cover. Mine is on order and now I will have something else to worry about. Ha ha.
  10. Power Tailgate Issue -- doesn't latch when closing and needs manual push to fully close

I don't have a spray-in bed liner and have not had any issues. But every time I close, the thought enters my mind and I check. Just something about the motion/sound makes me believe this will be a problem.
  11. is non-ethanol gas bad for the turbo?

I've not heard that and have my doubts. Extra (or pre) detonation can adversely affect plugs, rings, pistons, and bearings but would have no impact on the turbo itself. Now the inverse can be true. Turbos make an engine run hotter and generate more pressure than a naturally aspirated engine...
  12. Question for the 6 limited owners on the forum

I have not figured out how to change my custom mode either. Entertainment screen, settings. Everything defaults to normal, any attempted changes just result in a beep.
  13. JBL "Premium" System Review (from an Audioholic)

The sub for sure. Ideally, it would have a separate volume and crossover control (most do).
  14. Need opinion ( tailgate insert letters )

What would be the benefit of black on black other than some texture? I like chrome. Mostly to trigger the anti-chrome crowd plus I'm old.
  15. JBL "Premium" System Review (from an Audioholic)

Hello. My name is David and I am a recovering audioholic. I have read a lot of positive and negative comments about this system. I have put it through the paces and wanted to offer my evaluation. For immediate comparison, my wife has a Mustang with a B&O system and my Jeep JL had an Alpine...
  16. New 2024 Limited - My Impressions

I'm going to echo what the others have said. I don't care for them. My wife, on the other hand, likes them. She wins. It's easy to navigate around them. I get the hand grip complaint. The indentation that is there requires weird hand positioning. Hoping for an aftermarket solution soon.
  17. Bought a 2024 Tacoma Off-Road Premium today!

Mine came with locking nuts. Like you, I take them off. Mine did not come with the extra nuts so I'll have to buy 4 at some point.
  18. New 2024 Limited - My Impressions

In my area, the majority of wheeling is at two offroad parks and those are three hours away. We would probably wheel 8-12 times per year. Every other year we would travel to Tenn for Windrock, Chinqauipin, or Adventure. Never did make it out west. Jeep was lifted 3.5 on 37's, locked, blah blah...
