Ok first off, anytime I say something on this topic people seem to think Iām saying the service advisor is a master mechanic. To be clear, I know the advisor is just the messenger and sometimes they get the message wrong. But I donāt get to talk directly to the mechanics or the engineers...
Yeah it doesnāt add up.
Furthermore, I JUST had a maintenance done days before and they checked the filter. They did mention it was a concern, but did not offer to replace it.
Iāve repeatedly asked if thereās some sort of temp fix they can do so that I can drive my truck until they get what...
Iām just passing along what Iāve been told. They believe the issue is a dirty air filter. But the Trailhunter has a special air filter. And that special air filter is back ordered. So they are hoping my truck will be drivable again mid-June.
Super lame. But hopefully they will have air...
Quick backstory, at about 12,000 miles on my Trailhunter I was driving through high altitudes in a heavy rain storm at freeway speeds. I had a sudden loss of power and several error codes. Had a dealer check it out and they couldnāt find anything wrong. That was last November. Everything was...
Jumping in on this topic. Got about 24,000 miles on my ā24 Trailhunter now. Yesterday I was driving home. Everything was normal. Suddenly got a check engine light and a couple warning codes. Went straight to the dealer. A day later and they still havenāt figured out whatās wrong. They say...
I usually don't nickname my vehicles. Around the house my truck is referred to as "the truck." But my coworkers named my truck The Black Death. So I guess that sorta counts.
This morning in traffic I caught a glimpse of a 4th gen Taco with roof rails. First time I've seen this. It looked good.
Does anyone know where these came from? OEM or aftermarket? Any of you have this on your truck? Last I heard there were no rails available yet.
Raises hand! Hello from Oregon, my fellow Trailhunterites. Now that Oregon and Washington have played football, I think we can be friends for the next 11.5 months or so.
Just a quick update since my last post. Iāve driven about 300 miles in the past couple days. A little deep snow and lots of freeway driving, including mountain passes in suboptimal weather. Not even a hint of an issue.
So Iām gonna assume my transmission is fine. Maybe I got some bad gas or...
Great question. I didnāt even look at that. Here is the report I got:
None of those codes are on the TSB. So if this wasnāt transmission related then WTF happened?? Iām actually more concerned now! Haha
Well the good news is they were able to look at it tonight. The bad news is the results were inconclusive. The error codes didnāt indicate a definite problem and after they cleared the codes and test drove it they had no issues.
Honestly I NEED the truck badly for the next few days. Visiting...
My truck was built in May. I have been driving 3000+ miles a month, so I probably have more miles on my truck than most other hybrids out there. But yeah, I thought I was in the clear at this point.
For sure. I work in a different industry, but I also work in technical repairs. The inconsistent problems are the bane of my existence. We want things to fully break or fully work.
I donāt know. Just guessing. They arenāt even sure they can look at it today since I donāt have an appointment.
Funny story, when I walked in and started telling them the problem they acted like they had never heard of anything like this before. Then they got me confused with another guy who...
Looks like I got bit by the tranny bug. Just passed 12k miles on my TH. No warning signs of impending doom. Was on the freeway cruising along, then sudden violent jerking and the engine cut out. Pulled over and restarted the engine and limped to a service center. Iām over 200 miles away...
Iām out at the end of whatās known as āThe Peninsulaā in central Oregon. Sheer cliffs almost around me. Itās my mobile office this afternoon.
