I dunno about a zr2. I'd rather have a truck that, if it's gonna fail, will fail early, with a widespread manufacturing issue, and the manufacturer will warranty and/or recall. I'm pretty insular, don't know a lot of people, live in a small town, and yet know of 3 Silverado half tons, two...
And that's where you lose a couple mpgs that you would otherwise have as an advantage with the hybrid. And the reason TH and Pro have same mpg rating as limited.
Well I'm an ass, the spec sheet asterisk claims it is epa estimate. Don't know how that's possible. We'll see what epa puts on their site. Maybe there's a typo on this. I hope not . . .
If the upper trims with lift and 33 actually were that high mpg, that would be super impressive. My wildest dreams were high 20s pushing 30 for hybrid limited, and low to mid 20s for hybrid trail and pro. The fact that they're claiming the same for all hybrids is clear that they're bs'ing. Wait...
Toyota hosted media for the trailhunter with iMax, months ago. Granted, it was pre production, but still. So, as far as Toyota hosted driving, rather than media getting it out on their own in their own back yards, I'm not sure there's much to be gleaned here. But, new info on taco iMax is...
The biggest factor for me in wanting a hybrid in a truck is actually none of what's been mentioned so far. But rather, the built in inverter and power source. If Tacoma hadn't corrected the mistake that Toyota made with tundra (no inverter use without the engine running) I'd be getting an f150...
I'm sure the 25 number is top line, the most efficient trim. So, limited, sport. TRD off road probably one mpg less. I'm guessing trailhunter and pro 3-5 mpg less. Though, they aren't exactly putting serious (ie heavy) tires on the trail or pro, so may only lose 2-3 hwy mpg over most efficient...
Except the 25 hwy is for non TRD trims. Pro and trailhunter with heavy tires, lifts, no air dam, lower final drive ratio? won't be near 25. But I will still be barely satisfied if they top 20 on trd trims
In this video, the guys discuss Tacoma MPG, as a guess at 4runner fuel economy, and they state that Tacoma Hybrid gets 25 highway, as compared to non-hybrid getting 24. The non hybrid 24 highway is for non TRD, so I'm sure the hybrid 25mpg is also for non TRD. Will be interesting to see what...
I don't know how they did that poorly in the gladiator. I rented one of those once, with same tires/size as that Mojave, and did better than that on the interstate going 70-75, including high elevation and grade climbing in northern Arizona. Maybe my rental had higher final drive or something . . .
