I was amused as I removed temporary plate and dealer's frame saying "Quality Service". I found the plate mounted off center, one self taping screw randomly through plastic and other mid-air. Fat chance they can provide "quality service". Dealer install error.
Installed "Dominitor D1" running boards, thinking I would like the look.... don't. They stick out too far, hang too low, slope outward, and seem to flex with weight. I guess I'll be trading.
I chose the Off Road because I couldn't accept peering over a fake hood scoop. The ride is supossedly better with shocks and 17" wheels. I got a bunch of extras, good trade in on a '16, and $2.5K off MSRP. So far, very pleased with a much improved Tacoma.
I am considering doing the dash and some interior trim to match the red exterior. My only concerns are application and durability. I wonder if materials can hold up and if they may discolor or separate within a few years?
My local dealers are asking $1,999 over MSRP plus thousands in costly extras. I drove 60 miles to Seattle area to get $2,400 off MSRP. I believe I saved $5k over a short-signed local dealer. TRD off road
Thanks to these posts, I insisted that mine should have one, sales people were clueless. Finally someone found it upstairs in another office. Dealers are so annoying: four hours just to pick up one I had reserved. Keycard is handy. I had some upgrade package.
