  1. Anybody done a DIY sleeping platform ?

Thanks for the kind words. If you're interested, here are some photos of the build-out (along with a bunch of other photos I've shared w/the forum).
  2. Anybody done a DIY sleeping platform ?

My set up is more involved but if you have some woodworking skills it might give you some ideas. Having drawers under the bed allows you to store quite a bit of stuff and you can customize it any way you like to fit your needs. I have maybe $500 in this whole thing and that includes the slides...
  3. DIY Center Hood Stamp

Still holding up great. Looks exactly like the day I installed it! I use an Adams spray cleaner product designed to clean matt vinyl every month or so and that removes any water spots or impurities and keeps it looking new. I have 300 watts of solar on top of my Lone Peak so don't need more...
  4. Washington WTB: Rear 1" spacers

I have Wescott spacers I'll give you a good deal on. Will also have Dobinsons 817 springs I'm replacing in a couple of weeks that will lift the rear by a couple of inches (which is why I took the Wescott spacers off the truck). Finally, I'm swapping out my front TRD shocks that have the...
  5. Lone Peak Overland Camper Install - Review & Photos

Also, I'm not sure where you're coming from but if you go through Seattle feel free to ping me. I live at the base of Stevens Pass so you'd be driving right by me (assuming I'm around). You also may want to upgrade your suspension. If you start choosing out any major interior mods you'll...
  6. Lone Peak Overland Camper Install - Review & Photos

I did attempt to seal the caps and would encourage you to do a better job than I did. The Tacoma bed is a sieve and I've been chasing water for two years now. If I had it to do over again I would have used a couple tubes of Sikaflex and filled every hole I could find. It's not just the caps...
  7. Post your Starlink mini mounting setup!

The only other thing I can think is that you may have to have an active plan before you can put it on "standby". So, maybe pay for a month at your normal rate and then see if it gives you the option of putting it on standby. I will say, for me standby gives me plenty of bandwidth to read...
  8. Post your Starlink mini mounting setup!

Do you have the Starlink Mini or the regular Starlink residential? I believe the $5 standby plan can only be had with the Mini, not the residential. EDIT: NVMD. I'm wrong. Should be able to use it with all Starlinks.
  9. 2026 Tacoma good location for Airlift wireless compressor

I mounted a Thor's Lightning Bolt dual air compressor between the bed and the fender on the back driver's side. There is more than enough room there for the Airlift or most any air compressor. You can see what I did in this thread...
  10. Taco hybrid on 37's.

Looks great! Did you install Ironman's diff drop kit and/or the ECG needle bearing replacement or are you just taking the wait and see approach on vibration? I really wanted to buy the IM 2.5 but the guys at Ironman talked me into the foam cell shocks instead. I've built out my truck as an...
  11. Harbor Freight Apache Cases installed on roof rack

I bought one of the Apache cases on sale a couple of weeks ago as well. It perfectly holds all my recovery gear. I just drilled through the bottom to mount it to the rack. I will say it obviously eliminated any wind noise reduction I'd gotten from the fairing. I just crank the stereo up!
  12. Best value mid budget shocks

The time has come for me to upgrade my suspension. The stock OR shocks can't keep up and I've got more weight now than the Dobinsons 819v can comfortably handle so I might as well just take the dive. I'm considering the Ironman 4x4 IM2.5 stage 2 kit (20% off currently) or the Falcon 3.2 using...
  13. Rear springs for extra weight.

I have to think the "driver assist re-calibration" is just boiler plate CYA. Their spring is no different than any other spring in that regard. 1/2 inch of lift is less of a change than the sag you'd get from throwing a couple of bags of dirt in the back. I've never heard of anyone needing to...
  14. Best value mid budget shocks

I can't answer wrt the Falcon's (other than I'm curious the long term review as well) but I can tell you that I have the 819's and now wish I'd went with the 821's. The 819's were perfect when I first put my Lone Peak wedge camper on but I've expanded since then and I am probably going to swap...
  15. Raingler attic net

I'll share pictures but the picture you see is my truck. It's almost impossible to get enough light in there to take a decent photo. That said, here are some more photos although I'm not sure they're any better. I went over to Raingler's place on Orcas Island in the Puget Sound when I first...
  16. Flaw in Toyota's Double Wall Hitch Receiver Design

Here's a good video. He opens the table in the first minute (that's all I watched of the video). I guess it's not that bad, but my solution is better! :ROFLMAO: Edit: I went ahead and watched his whole video and he confirms my concerns with the table being a PITA, although a nice...
  17. Flaw in Toyota's Double Wall Hitch Receiver Design

If you watch the video, I comment on a couple of very minor nit-picks on the RakAttach but they are minor and wouldn't stop me from buying it at all. It's a high quality piece! I also looked hard at Rig'd but for what I wanted I just couldn't justify the extra money. My only thing I'm not...
  18. Dan's 2024 TRD OR Celestial Silver Long Bed Build

Here's a post about my rear swing out/bike rack install and the issue I had to find a solution for.
  19. Flaw in Toyota's Double Wall Hitch Receiver Design

I'm assuming that Toyota designed the new double-wall hitch receiver with structural integrity in mind, and maybe the design is what gives the hitch it's class 4 rating. That's all well and good if you're towing something but what if you want to use the receiver to mount a shelf, swing out...
