I stood with the lexus mechanic in front my engine while they used a stethoscope and manually unplugged & plugged back in the purge valve.
As a bandaid they actually sprayed some wd-40 in the valve which seemed to help somehwat.
FWIW mechanic identified the sound in my video as coming from the solenoid in the purge valve, the chirp seen in other videos (my truck additionally has that issue) the mechanic suspected was coming from ac compressor clutch.
Anyone find a resolution / more info on this? My truck has been chirping since moving to a warmer climate. Dealer replaced serpentine belt but did not fix the issue.
Curious if anyone has any insight into what this sound originating from my engine might be.
Its a chirping or rubbing sound obvious at idle, regardless of AC on / off.
I first noticed it during a long roadtrip in hot weather, and it has persisted since.
Issue is currently under investigation...
Toyota replaced my truck's hvac assembly in an attempt to fix this, issue remains.
Sounds like they have no idea how to fix, I gave up going back to the dealership.
