I too feel the jerkiness of 1st into 2nd. I’ve been driving manual cars and trucks for 27 years and I just can’t get this one to be consistently smooth. 1 in 5 starts will be acceptable to me.
From what I’ve heard, the transition is awkward due to rev hang, where the rpms take a while to drop...
That's a good kit! Thanks for the tip. I would assume then that they would survive a southern Alberta winter too. I do like the adjustability. Makes it easy to adapt to whatever task I'm up for.

It is definitely complicated, and a compromise will have to be reached. I also blast down forestry and back roads and eating up the bumps is pretty critical. Had some really hard hits in my previous trucks.
I assumed that getting that softer ride might also involve a lighter spring...
Ok, so this might be a unicorn I'm chasing, but I'd like to get closer to that soft Trophy truck feel in my Sport, but also maintain the cargo carrying capacity.
As I understand it, if I go softer I gain a nicer ride over rough roads but I'm also likely going to get a lot of sag or bottoming...
I’ll definitely bring it to their attention, but I suspect they’ll blow me off too. My wife got video of the flexing so I’ll be sure to show them. I don’t think she captured the few points where I thought I could see the engine, but the rest was still pretty remarkable. I could easily imagine...
Just did a drive out in the foothills and the route had some fairly decent washboard in spots. The hood (most noticeable near the windshield as I was staring right at it in utter amazement) shook a lot, and at times was moving more than a 1.5” up and down. I swear I could see the engine at one...
In my Youtube exploration, I came across this video explaining Drive By Wire. I thought I understood it, but this gave me far more information and explains some of the unexpected readings I'm getting on ODB2 gauges. For example: in my 6M, same instant MPG in 5th vs 4th at a constant speed on...
I got the "full front" wrap (bumpers, mirrors, roof, hood, fenders, etc, and you can hardly tell there's anything there. Since I have a Sport with that wicked awesome "air scoop", that wrap had to be done in two pieces: One big sheet over the whole hood and then a smaller panel behind the scoop...
If we consider the rear bumpers that come on the trialhunter, they are available only through dealerships at this time. I think they are a fairly reasonable price too, weirdly. Something like $500 or $600, but don't quote me on that. Its been a while since I looked at the price sheet posted in...
Nice write-up. Thanks for this. Definitely enjoying the +10C recently. I'm thinking I'll be getting the same seat covers since my grey cloth is also looking a bit gross already. I spilled some water on the passenger seat and it looks terrible. I tried using an upholstery cleaner (Bissell carpet...
Anyone want to hazard a guess at the price point? It's likely either $1400 USD or $2K based on the other bumpers they offer. This one is elaborate, but doesn't have the grill and headlight loops of the Summit or Deluxe series, so *maybe* it's on the lower price scale. Fingers crossed I suppose.
That writeup KJC posted is the fix. My dealership just replaced the runner, but I assume it didnt correct it because they just added padding behind the rubber like in that post. Its all puffy now, but its not rattling.
Well, the dealership stopped the flapping, but I suspect the new runner didn't do much to fix it. It looks like they stuffed something in behind the rubber to fatten it up. Its a bit stiff now and squeaks when the window moves. I would suggest that if you have this problem just add some padding...
Thanks for being the guinea pig for us! If you could report back once you get it installed, that would be appreciated. I'm interested to know if you find it to be a useful mounting point.
