  1. How to safely lock pet in running Tacoma?

I turn off the truck, get out and lock it. Then I turn it back on with the remote. It will stay on for 10 minutes. I’m not leaving my dog in it for long anyway. Not the perfect solution. Toyota should have a dog mode.
  2. Beware of this company

I get it. I don’t leave reviews. I had a different experience. Nothing comes for free. I buy products from Toyota, Apple, Snap-On, Makita, Samsung, Bosch, Maytag, and Stihl. Make sure to never spend a single dollar with them.
  3. Beware of this company

Sounds like marketing. Ultimately you get a free thing by agreeing to give feedback after using it. I see nothing wrong. Bought and paid for one of their roof racks and it works great 1 1/2 years in. Whatever.
  4. Gross smell after rains

My doors hold water and I pull the plugs at the bottom after any decent rain. Seems to take a while to dry and the windows come up wet for a few hours after rain or car wash.
  5. Awesome Fuel Mileage (base trim model 2026 SR Extra Cab)

65-70mph usually nets me 26-28mpg 75 drops me to 24 and 85 to 18mpg. Mostly flat with some foothills. Wind plays a big factor. SR5 long bed 4x4 w/ hard tonneau cover.

  8. 12V Fridge Game Changer: ICECO VL45 PLUS | vlog 023

That’s cool. I bought a BougeRV w/ battery, 12v or 120 for $350. No fanciness, but it stays put and stays on until I turn it off. Cooler/Freezers have come a long way!
  9. Can't unlock with keyfob if truck is already running

When I put the truck in park, it automatically unlocks the doors. I think that’s an option in the OBD-II tools like Carista, etc. I think it can be set either way.
  10. What's one thing every Tacoma owner should keep in their vehicle at all times?

A badass flashlight. Flats happen at the worst times. Night, rain, side of busy interstate. I keep an Olight Marauder X7 on hand, plus a traffic baton.
  11. May Giveaway! 4-Piece Tacoma Interior Upgrade Kit – Ends 5/31 (US Time)

The hidden armrest door will fail if you live in a place with lots of potholes like me.
  12. Issues with Weathertech Rain Guards

Same but it’s never leaked from car washes or New Orleans rain events. My front right side does rattle a bit on bumps when the window is down. The ones on my ā€˜16 never rattled…
  13. Tacoma Lasfit Liners Installed

I have them too. The coverage is great. One small complaint is the little covers over the latches don’t fit tight and sometimes they pop out.
  14. Cracked windshield again

Replaced mine at almost a year after purchase(4/24). Second non-OEM windshield has gotten one very small chip, so I’m not certain yet, but my 2016 earned a new windshield after 6 years of the same dumb southeastern Louisiana roadways. Both replacements seems as good if not better.
  15. Any Build Regrets On Your Tacoma?

    No dampened tailgate.
  16. Who's had their 4th gen for a year now? What do you love/hate?

I like more room up front, but it was taken from the back seat. The paint job seems easier to chip than previous years. Accelerator has to be relearned. I wish the trailer hitch wasn’t integrated into the frame. Top speed governed at 107mph. I have no big complaints. I’ve owned an 2001...
  17. Disgusting metal on metal sound shortly after shutting off engine

Mine ā€œfartsā€ about two minutes after shut down. I think it’s part of the evaporative fuel system….
  18. How long does 24 Limited brake pads lasting?

70% of stopping power is in the front brake and the rear tends to slide more causing more wear from less stopping .
  19. Mods that make you cringe..

It’s funny cause I bought some and changed my mind as they’re a pain to install and didn’t look as cool when they showed up.
  20. 3D print custom box for side dash secret cubby

Magnetic safety flasher from Lowes fits perfectly with a small pad of velcro under the lid.
