You can get some turn by turn directions in either right or left gauge cluster while using your native maps app through carplay (apple maps) or android auto (google maps). It's a half measure to get there, but better than having to turn your head to the center screen.

If the new 25 4Runners are anything to go by, the 25 Tacomas will also not have this center map function. Seems to be relegated to other vehicles like the Highlander, despite using the same gauge cluster, for some bewildering Toyota reason. Drives me crazy. At least we can still get some turn by...
