  2. if you could only do one mod on your 4th Gen Tacoma, what’s the move?

Five tires including upgrading the spare.
  3. ARB Rear Bumper Installed

Anyone have the weight of the ARB bumper compared to the stock TRD OR bumper? I searched for 15 minutes or so and can't find any weights associated with the part numbers. Just curious, because, I have a RSI top and already get pretty saggy with a full load on camping trips. Also, many thanks...
  4. Newbie! What tools do I need to install oem running boards and tonneau cover

If you tighten everything by hand, you don't need to buy a torque wrench, but I'm old and I'm sure some folks will disagree.
  5. "Recommended" (but not covered) Wheel Alignment at 15K mile service?

Update: I went back for 20K service, no mention of alignment, but the service rep was terrible.
  6. Toyota Dealership offering Rodent Screen

Haven't heard of this physical barrier, but have dropped $2K to repair damage a rat did to a car we don't drive very often. Given my recent experiences with Toyota service, I would ask them to point out their evidence of rodent traffic before I would even entertain the thought of buying...
  7. Those that have upgraded tire size and do serious off roading….How has the spare location held up?

When I've done backcountry roads in Big Bend, I throw my full-size in the bed and mount the original under for a second spare. I've been looking for a bed mount that would work with rail system in the bed, but haven't really found much other than this, which is bit more than I'm willing to...
  8. OEM Rock Rails Install Write-Up DIY, Photos, Review

Thanks again for this post and your replies. Installed mine a couple of weeks ago and wouldn't have tackled it on my own without this thread.
  9. OEM Rock Rails Install Write-Up DIY, Photos, Review

Just installed these, not much if any protection from flying doors.
  10. Paint chips

I had three deep paint chips on the upper section of the rear passenger door the first month I had it. I have a couple smaller ones since on the hood, but otherwise ok at 16K miles.
  11. "Recommended" (but not covered) Wheel Alignment at 15K mile service?

Interesting thoughts, much appreciated. I'll check for the Hunter equipment the next time I drive into the intake lanes at the dealership. I'll be back there to address my third recall soon.
  12. "Recommended" (but not covered) Wheel Alignment at 15K mile service?

I took my TRD OR in for 15K service a couple of weeks ago and was surprised when they tried to upsell me (at the outset, as soon as I rolled into the queue and before I stepped out of the pickup) on wheel alignment that wasn't covered by warranty. I've had two other Tacomas and have never had...
  13. Anyone else get a notice to reprogram the blind spot mirrors ?

Wasn't aware of this until I arrived for 15K service on Sat morning. They did it, but took every minute of 2 hours (although half of that time I watched my pickup sit in a parking space outside of service).
  14. Aftermarket Side Steps?

Many/most of the aftermarket products are rock sliders and not intended as traditional running boards. Toyota does has some pretty nice OEM Running Boards for the Tacoma - https://autoparts.toyota.com/products/product/running-boards-pt21235055
  15. Merus Adventure Park Offroad Trails Outside Amarillo Texas

Thanks for sharing this, I had no idea this place existed. If I hadn't read the intro, I would of guessed the pics were Sedona, not the Panhandle!
  16. SmartCap Experience. Water Ingress anyone?

You got a really bad install, is there another RSI dealer in your area?
  17. My RSI SmartCAP is haunted

Assuming RSI sent replacements? I read somewhere they're now shipping the old style locks to replace all the new ones?
