Corporate has been loaded with calls and open files. The overstocked lots with 2024 Tacoma's they can't sell isn't just about the high sticker prices. After having the trans and torque converter replaced my shift problems are gone
Part number is correct and you will probably be told it is on backorder. They had mine to me in 4 days. I also have factory instructions which were very easy to navigate for the install.
Trans and Torque Converter replaced @ 989 miles. I have just surpassed 1K miles post replacement and all shift scenarios appear fantastic with no issues. Wishing everyone else the same positive results but will keep you posted if anything else surfaces.
My trans went out completely. Towed to dealer May 10th, got vehicle back July 25th with new trans and torque converter. Shift's like a dream with none of the problems previously experienced. I have only been able to put about 700 miles on since getting it back and looking forward to reaching the...
While the wait for the trans & torque converter seemed like forever my 2024 SR5 drives and shifts far better than it ever did when new. None of the issues we have all discussed are present.
Once the dealer determined it was internal Toyota would not allow the trans to be opened and put me on the waitlist for a new trans. I wish I had more info as to the exact problem
Wonderful list, many of which is why we have purchased the gen 4. After owning 3 weeks the trans went out and it will only take 3 months to get new one. So for the time being I will have to live vicariously through ya'll
I have a case # for the transmission part itself and a case # for Toyota to purchase the vehicle back. Of course if they buy it back and I get another will I also get the same problem again ?? If I wait for the new trans will a fix have been made or are they shipping the same trans they are...
Mine was towed to dealer 5/10/24 and I was told they are hopeful by end of July 2024 to have a transmission. 989 miles and mine also died while pulling into traffic
There was no indicators. Accelerating to pull into traffic, maybe 3-5 seconds into acceleration the RPM's increased but vehicle slowed and I knew we had a problem. I was able to nurse it back to my parking lot. I even attempted to manual shift into gear but it would not allow the trans to go...
Just got word they are replacing the complete transmission and we have an ETA of 4-5 weeks before arriving. Thankful for the warranty. This is the first issue of this type that my local dealer has seen.
I have 989 miles on my 2024 SR5 4x4 and it is sitting in the dealer lot waiting for the new transmission to arrive. Back to driving my gen 4 2003 SR5 4Runner which has been a daily staple for 21 years
