Mine started very smooth. There was an occasional hard shift first thing on cool mornings but almost every modern auto I've driven seems that way so no issues. I'm at 5700 miles now and I believe my transmission is starting to fail.
I originally got around 20mpg city and always got at least...
TRD Sport Premium XP Package 4x4 - Bought in May. 1 week in a rear parking sensor died and was replaced. Rattle in passenger door card was 2 missing screws and also fixed. Truck runs fantastic. Great power and acceptable mileage. (Usually around 22 city with 32.6" tires)
For anyone wanting the Covercraft, I'd skip it. Ordered one as soon as it became available and the fitment is not good. Shame because I've used Covercraft on multiple vehicles and never had a bad fit before.
Just picked up my TRD Sport Premium XP Edition on 5/18/24. Traded in my F150 Lariat FX4 and don't regret it ONE bit. The ride and quality of the Tacoma is WAY beyond what I had.
Only thing I've done so far was to remove the chin spoiler. I plan on 32" tires and a hard tonneau cover eventually.
