Sorry but I don't think I can advise on this, I won the crossbars but I actually don't work for the company. I do believe the 260 lb is static or non-moving, whereas 165 lb would be the max weight while the vehicle's in motion. Hopefully this helps you out. I do like the product and I wouldn't...
How does it look? Took me about an hour and a half to install. At first it seemed like the rails were bowed too much, but as you screw them into place, they settled down nicely.8
What are the downsides of doing this tune? Why wouldn't Toyota just have all their trucks tuned this way?
I'm just trying to understand why they don't leave the factory this way if it is that much better?
Thanks
Yes, mine "clunks" both directions (from 4H to 2H and back). I assure you it's not that unusual. This can be somewhat prevented if you make the shift while traveling and not stopped.
The bit about the engine lag made me think this too....anyone who owns one and drives it knows its got virtually zero lag primarily due to the low end torque.
This truck has actually less lag off the line than my Turbo Mazda Cx-30.
What engine lag?
This may be a specific issue with your truck. I have a TRD OR and am impressed with the lack of any lag (I actually think the truck is quick and fun to drive/punch it).
I am wondering if your truck may have an issue that is causing engine lag, because this seems unusual.
