This is the hard fold cover off my truck. Put a canopy on and no longer need it. Pictures upon request, but it's off the truck now.
This is what it looks like installed (not my truck) : https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/threads/toyota-oem-hard-bed-tonneau-cover-is-nice.5858/
It's ~32 & 3/4" vertically from lowest point of the canopy opening to the bed, and ~12 & 1/2" from the lowest point of the canopy opening to the top of the closed truck bed door (measured at the same slope as what the canopy door would be)
I have a 29er mtb I can try loading in later on today...
No, they only open a few inches for ventilation at the rear of the canopy. The screens act much like a screen window in a house where you can just pop them off from the inside.
Just got this installed. This post is more of an FYI for anyone interested.

Truck was freshly washed, so everything is super reflective right now lol.
I'll let you know in 6 weeks. I was in the same situation, decided to go with the more "integrated" look and ordered the 100xq from leer.

So have around 600km on the truck now, and was hoping to get some input from others to see if what I'm experiencing is "normal".
Generally the truck feels pretty sluggish accelerating from a stop in the "Normal" driving mode. Much better in Sport mode. I'm not flooring it either as I'm still...
Would you be able to add some more photos of the smart cap? I'd like to see a front profile shot of the truck and from the side too see how it lines up with the lip coming off the back of the roof.
Reviving this thread a bit with more info for anyone who comes reading...
Depending on your model (mine is a Sport Premium) you may not get the frame plugs that go into the lower control arms of the front suspension. This is what causes the whistling. More info here...
Just had a look at the nytop website, seems their price has been updated to $39 now :)

Where in BC are you? I lived in the lower mainland for many years (currently on the island) and was using General Grabbers on my XTerra, and then switched over to KO2's. I think I preferred the Grabbers, but the KO2's did well in the snow we got. Mind you, I was able to put it in 4 wheel drive...
Well, hopefully this brings this saga to an end. Got the truck back today with an all new transmission. Fingers crossed the next time I'm at the dealer is because of my regularly scheduled service.
