  1. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

I think I’m done at the need to drill into my cab roof. Not something I’ll take on DYI. Been looking at 3rd party RF cameras.
  2. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

Thanks for confirmation. I’ll stop wondering.
  3. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

I think the key component is the antennas. If we don’t have them, I doubt the truck can connect to the camera, even if the MMI is compatible. That’s where my Limited falls, but I’m hoping to find out.
  4. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

I’m envious. My Limited didn’t come with the antennae, so it may be a major mod but I’m gonna follow up and see what it would take to have it installed. Thanks for posting.
  5. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

I’m really interested. Do you have antennae on each side of the cab roof? Did they provide an actual camera? Can you post a photo of the unit? There’s an existing thread, which I don’t know how to link from here, covering these mysterious Toyota OEM trailer mount backup cameras, so if you...
  6. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

I contacted my dealer and they first told me it didn’t exist yet, then told me it was only available as a factory install due to the extensive electrical mods required (e.g. antennae on each side of the cab roof). I’m not confident that they know.
  7. First Trip with 2024 Limited Towing Camper and Backup Assist Function

Finally got my 2024 Limited out with our Taxa Cricket trailer for a trip to the Olympic Peninsula to check things out in prep for a longer trip later this year and wanted to share a few things. First, towed a ~2200 lb. camper using a 13" ball mount (long enough to allow dropping tailgate...
  8. Limited vs offroad

. If you're traveling down logging roads or camping off-grid, go for the Off-Road model. No disrespect, but I off-grid with my Limited and still have more off-road capability than I’ll probably ever need, only the drive to get there is a lot nicer;^)
  9. Pace Edwards Ultragroove Retractable Tonneau Install & Review on 4G Limited, 60 days in.

I spoke to Eric Haines at Pace Edward’s 800-338-3697 ext 21215. He provided the part called a bulkhead adapter free of charge. He also provided an updated installation manual which I will try to attach.
  10. Pace Edwards Ultragroove Retractable Tonneau Install & Review on 4G Limited, 60 days in.

I picked something off Amazon of a size that was close to the diameter of the drain. One problem was that the thickness of the fiberglass (~1/4ā€) bed exceeded the depth of the flange on the grommets I picked. I made it work by forcing the extra material into the hole, but I wouldn’t use the same...
  11. Is a 2025 Limited a Good Choice?

Unfortunately I bought the truck in late October and the first outing with the trailer is still in planning. That said, I put about ~1000 miles, mostly highway in inclement weather, in and out of 4WD over Xmas. Iā€˜m overwhelmingly happy with everything except the gas tank size. I’m working on...
  12. Is a 2025 Limited a Good Choice?

IMO - most of us pick and tweak our rigs for the image and/or the knowledge of real off-road capability but don’t really use it. I purchased and outfitted the 2019 TRD OR that I traded for my 2024 Limited specifically for off-roading and overland camping. It was expensive and made the truck...
  13. Seeking experiences with renting and maybe purchasing overland trailer.

I guess lots of us have the same story. Wife and I spent decades camping out of my 84 Forerunner, 98 Taco, and ultimately setup a 2019 TRD OR to be our retirement camping vehicle before realizing that we weren't kids anymore and sleeping in the back of a truck wasn't great. Bought a TAXA...
  14. Bed 120v outlet use

In the summer months I use mine to power a Dometic freezer for transport of ice cream and perishables from the store, and on road trips use the fridge to transport food putting things in the hotel mini fridge at night. The Dometic fridge/freezers draw a lot of amps at 12VDC and typical car...
  15. Tonneau Cover with Bed Rails?

My Pace Edward’s retractable tonneau uses the bed rails as the anchor to the truck. I still use an OEM bed divider on the rails, though had to modify it slightly to avoid interference with the tonneau.
  16. Tonneau cover choices that go with bike hauling

  17. Pace Edwards Ultragroove Retractable Tonneau Install & Review on 4G Limited, 60 days in.

Installed a Pace Edwards tonneau on my Limited in November. I thought I'd share some lessons after some weather exposure and one major winter road trip. First, I opted for the retractable tonneau over other bed cover types to meet 3 goals; 1) secure and (relatively) weather tight storage in...
  18. 4g Tacoma MPG and Fuel Tank Size SUCKS!!!

You are correct about the tank size being a missed opportunity to improve the truck. That said, I drove 2200 Miles over the holidays from WA to UT and back in a new Limited package with major storms each way and a couple of hours in 4H with an overall average MPG of 21.137. This isn’t much...
  19. Tacoma Limited Wheel Covers and Alternatives

Traded in my 2019 access cab for a new Limited package truck. This is my third Taco (1st generation Limited, and the TRD Off Road I traded in). My other two came with sharp allow wheels as part of the trim packages and I kind of take them for granted on higher level trucks. The new Limited...
