  1. Keeping the bed cool for dog in crate under the cap?

I would consider the alucab over the smartcap, as aluminum will stay cooler than steel. White will also stay cooler than black.
  2. Why won’t Toyota provide actual payload numbers?

after reading countless threads on the Tacoma and tundra forums, it seems universally true that the gross vehicle weight rating of any given Toyota Truck minus the curb weight as noted on a certified scale is nowhere near the payload sticker that Toyota provides. In the truck world, it’s fairly...
  3. Door Sticker Thread (GVWR / Payload / Tire and Loading Figures Label). Post Yours Up

I'm confused at how the above two Tacomas can have the same payload. Both are long bed crew cabs. One is a nearly base OR and one is a hybrid TH. I'd think the OR would have at least a couple hundred lbs more payload than the TH, but it actually has less. Can anybody help me understand how this...
  4. Door Sticker Thread (GVWR / Payload / Tire and Loading Figures Label). Post Yours Up

Went to look at an almost base OR today, here is the door jam and the window sticker
  5. Door Sticker Thread (GVWR / Payload / Tire and Loading Figures Label). Post Yours Up

When you say 210lb passenger, is that in addition to the driver or weight of the only occupant? Thank you for posting real numbers
  6. Best value mid budget shocks

FWIW I had a fox 2.5/eibach combo on my f150 with the same rebuild interval from Fox. They lasted me 75k (mostly pavement, washboard and beach) without any issues, no need to rebuild for me, despite having the same 50k max rebuild life. Sold the truck at that point so can’t comment on them...
  7. AluCab Contour Canopy - Installed

Hope it treats you as well as mine has treated me. 80k miles all with a 165# hardshell tent up top (on and off road) and it still looks and functions as new. Opted for no side windows, as they tend to have a greenhouse effect on past caps. Only upgrade I've needed was stiffer rear hatch struts...
  8. NHTSA Opens Investigation Regarding GM 6.2L V8 Engine Failures

I believe OP's idea here is that there is a lot of talk about the (un)reliability of turbo'd small displacement engines, but modern V8s are also having their fair share of problems (5.0 coyote, GM's 6.2)
  9. Fitting a cot in a 6ft TRD Sport...

I opted for a 6” Milliard trifold mattress on a previous build. Quite comfortable and easy to store. You can also fold it up and use it as a lounge chair with back (if you have the headroom to sit upright). I built a small platform out of 2x4s and plywood so I would have storage underneath...
  10. SR5 Verified Curb Weight and Payload

Howdy! Thanks for posting this. Just wanted to confirm that this is for a 4wd 6 foot bed. I ran a vin decoder, but it came back as a short bed. Thanks! Link
