Tailgate pads are quick and easy. But then cargo in the bed isnt secure/dry. Add to that the tailgate pads are likely to scuff the paint. Its purely preference.
I do have a hitch mount bike rack, if one of those models swings away or something though thats probably what I need. WIth a bed cover I need to open the tailgate to get riding gear, but then the bikes in the way. Im being overly picky, but life with a bike was easier in my Tundra.
TacoTunes seems to be in progress on a T-harness for tapping in an external amp. They appear to have done some thorough testing but I have no first hand experience with the company.
For me the first step with car audio is sound treatments. From there I will upgrade components as I see fit. I...
Ive been trying to find the best way to haul my bikes since switching to the Tacoma. I have parking ramp height restrictions at my office that keep me from mounting to the Kuat Ibex (which Im now selling for that reason).
Grew up riding dirt BMX, got into mountainbiking and when I cant mtb I...
I like where you have yours, probably a little mroe line of site than mine. Mine is kind of hidden as its just below the window. But I also have a little amazon special shelf where yours is mounted for my parking ramp key.
Anyone Take their Camtuned truck to the drag strip/draggy yet? Truck...
I also run the Cobb accessport with CamTune, ran Cobb on my past subarus as well. I like the ability to monitor and map change if needed. OTT guys have a turbo upgrade available now that could be fun to add on.
From the various studies Ive come across, typically the oil is fine, but the contaminents are high. Changing the oil filter more often than the oil seems to be a solution. They also make oil filters designed for longer interval oil changes.
Myself, I just do 5k oil changes with Toyota oil and...
Thats what surprises me is that Toyota doesnt require it. Makes you wonder about those v6 problems theyre having though.
86 GN?! Thats rad, always wanted one myself. Youve been a turbo guy for a long time then. I started with a 90 eagle talon.
eee
That is pretty much standard when it comes to new engine break in. When I build a new engine I will change the oil and filter at 500 and 1k miles to get any metal out right away.
At 5k miles I changed my own oil and filter, and went in for the 5k service of tire rotation and maybe they check other things. I requested my cousin since hes a tech and they said sure and scheduled accordingly. Except he was gone, and they didnt tell me. My truck ended up going to the kid they...
Very interesting. I had to replace the bearing with that bushing in my Tundra at 180k miles. I have the All Dogs lift on my truck now thats about a 1-1.5" lift in the front and immediately notices a hum that transfers through the chassis as nvh. I wonder if its this bearing or a...
Ive been running Cams tune on my Tacoma for a couple months now and loving it. Im hopeful the trucks have the fuel supply to run e85 at the pump (typ about E70 here in Iowa). Time will tell, but for anyone on the fence about adding the Accessport, I say go for it and get it through Cam for solid...
Kuat IBEX for sale. I had it mounted to the truck for a few months. Its a really well engineered rack, all aluminum and so many options/features. However, I have height restrictions with my garage door and parking ramp at work, so my plan to mount my bikes to it was not going to work. You can...
I also just happened to be watching this tacoma exhaust video, and his does it at start up as well. Heres a time-stamped link to that video for reference.
Mine does this every startup it seems. IDK if the alternator and a/c are all immedietely loading up the engine and cause a little belt slip? Annoying for a brand new truck though.
Looks like a nice setup. If theirs space for a thermal bypass in the kit Id be sold. Is their a specific Mishimoto model bypass valve that might work best?
Had some time today to inspect the jbl sub and space behind the rear seats. I had my suspision the jbl sub was infinite baffle given it's small space but ability to get low. As it turns out. It is IB, and I may revisit that to build a higher output IB sub setup. With the sub cover popped off...
