Update on the towing thing,
I went to uhaul no problem and they gave me the trailer, I put in that we were towing a Miata since we did a Miata one day and the BMW the other. Truck handled fine, surge brakes worked well on the trailer and we left a very conservative braking distance. Definitely...
Apologies for the delay, I finally got around to uploading the video to Youtube.

Hi all,
We finally got around to editing the footage of my Z precision oversized cupholder on my manual transmission SR Tacoma, I hope this helps someone else who likes to stay hydrated. Enjoy!
My girlfriend is editing it for me because she said she would, I'll try and get it uploaded this weekend.
Process isn't too hard but it is not plug and play for sure...
Are there any locations in particular that these trackers would be? I already disconnected my antennas from the telematics module and there doesn't appear to be anything connected to my battery in the engine bay. I guess I need to go look in the dash for this fella...
Everyone I've had drive the truck so far has definitely started off clunking the 1st to 2nd shift but I've been able to coach it out of them. The secret is to clutch in a bit earlier on your shift (~5-10mph) and give it a little bit of time until you shift. I then keep a touch of throttle and go...
I've been using the last portion of my tonneau cover as a slap sticker surface, and unfortunately a lot of them seem to be peeling off of the fiberglass surface. How can I get them to stay? Can I apply a sheet of vinyl underneath and then put my stickers all on? I like the idea of putting the...
Thank you for the info! The BMW I'm going to tow is the exact same weight pretty much, hopefully not having the hybrid system doesn't effect the performance too much
It's a manual SR, so it has the same engine config and power as a manual TRD off road or sport. I see no reason it would have a different towing capacity right?
Edit, found this https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2024-sr-towing-capacity.819657/#post-29576460
I'm good!
Anyone know what height drop hitch I should buy? There's a 2 1/4 and a 3 1/2 inch drop hitches on the uhaul website. Unless there's some magic Toyota hitch I should buy that has the 7500lb rating? This is on a SR double cab at stock ride height on the factor wheels and tires
Will do thanks, I'm planning on driving from RI to NY then back to RI, is it cheaper/easier to get the uhaul in RI and return it to the same place or is the cost negligble and I should just do a one way tow?
I went on the Uhaul website and put in the Tacoma info (6500 lb tow capacity) and the model of car that I want to tow (3300 lb BMW) and it is saying that the configuration is not recommended. The weight should be about 5700 lbs combined car/trailer, this is within the towing capacity of the...
Alright fellas, here is a photo that I do not believe exists on the internet yet. I 100% understand why they say it does NOT fit, some assembly required. I'll be uploading a Youtube video next week to explain what has to be done but it is 100% possible to get a cupholder in a MT Tacoma (who...
That's what I'm saying, it MUST fit I'm really not sure why it wouldn't. I have no idea when it'll be here but once it is I'll update after the install
Alright, I pulled my center console to take a look at how it differs from your regular automatic and it appears to be slightly shorter in overall height, other than that it's the same cupholder with MORE clearance underneath it than an auto as there is no shift cable going back. I am putting my...
Does this cupholder fit the one behind the center console? I'm not sure what the clearance issues are with the MT trucks but this would at least let me put a nalgene somewhere
Response from Bob at Bob's mirrors himself, so the 5 pin will definitely work for my auto dim motor, I wonder if I can use the 10 pin for anything else as well. I'm pretty sure the early SR trucks did not have any wiring up here so I'm feeling pretty lucky and appreciative that this will be plug...
Do you have any idea what the capped plugs on the right are for? Maybe I can use them to tap additional power or signals from the truck? I'm talking about stuff like constant 12V power, switch power, signals, etc
