Taking this into a solution direction. Don't piggyback those add-a-fuse taps to an existing fuse location. There are plenty of empty fuse locations in our fuse boxes. You don't need to piggyback off an existing circuit. Here is a pic of my fuse box. The locations marked in yellow are hot. The...
I carry a Viair 400P-A. I like it. That said, I was at Overland Expo in Flagstaff. There was a Tacoma on display that had the ARB dual pump mounted under the hood behind the computer. Way ... too... slick.
If I didn't already own the Viair I would have considered this option.
The bracket was...
Critters. I don't normally take animal pictures. Unless, they stand in front of me and pose.
Song sparrow.
There were mule deer everywhere.
Snowshoe hare in summer coat. You can still see a little white left over.
This marmot was too unafraid. I think it was looking for a hand out...
Camps. Mostly dispersed. Occasionally a campground. Some of the campgrounds were considered designated dispersed. I mostly avoided them. In one case I pulled into a "forest camp" which was a designated dispersed camp with five sites on the Middle Fork of the Boise River. I pulled into site 5...
Some scenery shots.
Arrowrock Reservoir. The Boise flowed into this. The road north along the reservoir was butt ugly. Boring. Rough. Washboard. Once I got where the Boise flowed into the lake the road improved. So did the scenery.
Middle Fork of the Boise River. The ID-BDR and the TAT...
Total time was around 5 weeks. Only one night was spent in a motel while on the TAT. This was a challenging route. This trail rode through a lot of farm/range land, and other private land that made camping a challenge. Hence, the one night in a motel. I didn't mind the shower, and real dinner...
I've done the WA BDR. I would recommend a small chainsaw.
I would also highly recommend the ID BDR. Well, except the southern section below Glenn's Ferry. Do it because it's there.
Nice! I love seeing folks using the trucks in the dirt. I've been on the road too doing the western loop of the Trans-America Trail. 3405 miles so far, with ~500 more to go.
I have the APL20, which is probably too small for most. This travels along with my ARB50. Drinks in the ARB, food in the ICECO.
The one exception. I was going out with buddies to S. Utah the first week of June. One of the fellas tradionally was in charge of the campfire margaritas. Due to a...
Well, good news for you folks holding out on a LRA tank. I'm at Overland Expo and I had a chat with them. The tank is in production. Once they receive the first tank it will get installed, and they will confirm fit and function.
The tank will operate the factory gauge.
It's a 33 gallon tank...
My truck is a TRD-OR. My load is heavier than yours with a canopy- camper, and heavy rear bumper. Plus all the gear i carry.
I started with Dobinson 819. They didn't work. I wanted some lift. So, I installed the 821 springs, and still wasn't happy. Next step, a 1/2" spacer. I can live with...
Late reply.
Bumper attached to the frame in several locations. This included holes in the frame that I think you are talking about.
Camera. I'm pretty sure I documented what I did on this forum. Try a search. In a nutshell, I bought a camera and tailgate harness from Toyota, and moved the...
Like i said, I'm on my summer adventure, the second major trip in this truck. The perceived need for a larger sway bar was noted last time, but i didn't become aware of the Hellwig until just before I left on this trip.
Glad you brought this up. I have a canopy camper and the Hellwig was on my radar. My truck is heavy. As soon as I get back from my summer adventure I will be ordering the Hellwig sway bar. I wish I had time before I left to get this installed.
I'm also curious if anybody has gone there yet.
