Greetings! A little over a year of having my '24, and 11,000 miles on it. 5. A couple of snow & ice related questions

4H will usually need wheel rotation for the splines to catch, only if you're very lucky will they be lined-up enough when sitting still. Rarely, you can slowly swing the steering from lock to lock and they'll engage. Regardless that, it does take a handful of seconds to get into/out of 4H.
  6. A couple of snow & ice related questions

For 4L you need to successfully be in 4H first. After that you put your foot on the brake, trans to N, selector to 4L. Wait for the dash indicator to switch, put trans in desired gear. To switch from 4L to 4H: foot on brake, trans to N, selector to 4H. Wait for the dash indicator to switch...

  10. 🔥 New Product Drop — Hood Deflector for the 4th Gen Tacoma! [TripleAliners] 🔥

There's going to be pros & cons for any attachment method, and a corresponding risk for damage to the finish regardless all else. Having an adhesive strip fastening method removes the downside of vibrational erosion of the finish, but (if properly applied) requires a heat gun for proper removal...

Saw this in my email, pulled-up the entry on Amazon and looked at it... ...hollered upstairs to my wife "Honey, I'm buying something for the truck!" and told her what when she asked. Purchased!
  12. Visited CAT Scale - Weighed the Trailhunter w/ short bed (5')

Rather interesting! I take my 2024 OR 5' with the only mods being a rolling locking aluminum bedcover, Triple-A bed liner, and AMP BedXtender when going to the recycling yard every few months. Their scale has me at 5150 lbs. with me and a full tank of gas, I'm 235 lbs so the vehicle wet weight...

  14. Spare hard key from Ebay - $24 !

  15. Designed & printed a Valentine One (Gen 1) windshield mount adapter for the 4th Gen Tacoma

I recently bought a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road (4th Gen) and needed a new windshield mount for my Valentine One (Gen 1) radar detector, as it has a different windshield rake angle compared to the prior 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road (3rd Gen). The windshield rake with stock tires & suspension measured...
