I’m having the same issue. I also baby my Taco. Did you find a solution? I jiggle the knob while trying to press the button down almost forcing it down so I can transfer into 4H.

Does it need a cross member bar? Would I need to buy a separate cross member if I do not have one?

So I emailed Amsoil to ask for its position on this subject. They responded and recommended to prefill whenever possible depending on the orientation of the filter.
