Not a hybrid owner, but similar observations.
I got a handy battery monitor from anti gravity that I’d recommend. I have the aux switches and 180amp alternator. The truck always starts but not with a lot of confidence.
The battery was warranty replaced back in may (truck sat before sale) and it...
give these a try.

I ordered a trd intake, and it didn't come with clips, so I got these and they had very little tension in them. I had to bend them a bit to increase leverage.
It will auto brake as part of cruise control, unsure about emergency situations, I've gotten the alarm but no braking as part of that. I am yet to stall this truck, and haven't intentionally tried to see what happens.
Appreciate the write-up, I'm awaiting CARB Approval and hopefully that coincides with their FMIC and boost tubes.
I have the iDash and love having all that information available.
Banks does it right.
Yeah, one could probably get away with longer intervals and be just fine, but spending $250 on fancy fluids in a year seems like a super cheap way to keep ahead of long-term issues.
I probably spend more on oils for my racing kart engines than I do for my truck in a year, and it's very apparent...
You summarized today's Toyota buying experience pretty well. I really struggled to get what I wanted, and while I didn't get exactly what I wanted, I found one with exception of the paint color, used actually (1,400 mi), so I got it at a discount and available at the time due to the brake line...
Interesting, I don't really experience that. I usually take 1st to 3k and use a slightly slower release going to 2nd, it's plenty smooth that way for me.
I don't drive the truck "hard" at all, and never bother to heel & toe.
I don't beat on road cars, I've got karts for that.
To each their own, It's a preference imo.
Auto's have been pretty well sorted out, but the newer 8+ speed stuff might not have the longevity of the older autos.
One of the biggest attractions to the MT, for me, is the simplicity of DIY fluid changes and regular maintenance. Given what we're...
It's a reflash of the ECU that allows for changes to engine management parameters, and they address the "rev hang", extend the redline and match the manual to what the Auto came with at factory. Allows for freedom beyond the factory calibration for those that desire. The tradeoff is potential...
I went with MT for the same reasons, and have zero regrets.
The truck is super easy to drive, and service, but unsure how I'd view it in 20 years at 60. I can see age playing a factor, but it's also why I went with the 360 cameras, I have a feeling I'll find them more valuable as time goes on.
It's actually pretty easy, you just need to remove the trim piece on the dash above the infotainment screeen and pull out the infotainment screen to access to recessed clips or screws, and the rest are push/pull tabs.
I changed all gear oils at 5k because break-in doesn't only apply to engines, and the goal is 200k+, and I was surprised by how dark the differential oil was at 5k. I will probably go to 10K intervals on gear oils, brake fluid every two years, and coolant every 4.
I DIY engine oil roughly every...
Sweet, you know better than anyone how to work the system to get a discount code when you return it, and then you can get something that works at a nice price, like an ARB bumper at 25% off.
