Just talked to them and it sounds like what they're doing is just changing the lower models to the stock viper cut from the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. Since I have a trailhunter I'm looking to push mine out just a little further.
Have any of you done any kind of mild trimming and figured out a practical way to retain the felt wheel well liners?
It looks like if I do even the smallest amount of front fender trimming, I'd lose the mounts for the felt, and I'm not sure how I'd reattach it to keep from getting dirt and...
I actually just figured out what was causing it! It was one of the bolts holding the fender liner on, so I just replaced it with a little plastic flat one and it's perfect and not hitting it now.
I asked about this in one of the Facebook groups too, but do with the little bit of rubbing I’m getting at full lock in reverse and occasionally on bumps while turning, would a lift help to correct this? It does seem like the rubbing is right at the top/front of the tire.
I wish I could remove...
Question for you guys. The back is a little easier to figure out which I need, but for the front I plan on putting on a steel bumper and winch relatively soon. Will the driving be obnoxious before I put it on if I get the higher weight option for springs?
Yeah, I saw it when I was considering which one. If there were any that looked remotely as good I'd probably go elsewhere because of your issues. I may just have a bunch of questions when the time comes.
Discount Tire mounted them and I found the rubbing. Took it to the offroading shop and they eyeballed it really, I was kinda disappointed they wouldn’t discuss any other options.
That being said, it has been chopped. I didn’t love doing it, but it looks great with no more rubbing other than the...
Took the truck to an offroading shop today, and my options to alleviate the rubbing on 35's are:
- Westcott's new preload collar front lift kit, which would be around $1000 installed (not my favorite choice, that seems like a lot of lift just on the front)
- Trimming fenders at the very bottom...
Both. Same offset. I'm not interested in opinions on that though. I'm asking what the part pictured is other than a guard for the wiring harness. Just making sure it's okay to move it.
I did remove the crash pads, but no cutting so far. It looks like I’ll need the tiniest trimming off the back of the fenders and I’ll need to relocate this wiring harness we have in the driver wheel well, which should be painless. I’ll keep you guys posted.
I also posted a picture of it in...
