The only downside is I constantly have to push the rubber seal back in. It gets pushed out under compression in serious off roading. Otherwise great, and amazing for putting a dog in the back too. I have the Evo Sport.
Would be nice to keep it factory, and good to know this exists. I am getting a Stillen intake installed this nexxt week to cut out the high air intake. This could be a good back up for me.
I just experienced this on my first real test with my trailhunter. It was a very steep scramble and I got a transmission temp warning in 4HI. Let it cool and switched to 4LO and didn't have a problem. It wqs very steep though, too the point I thought it may have messed with the sensor.
I am seeing other air intakes, such as Stillen, etc. This seems like a good option, and would eliminate the high air intake noise I'm sure, while also adding some power. Has anyone done this?
Yeah, you will sacrifice ride quality and mpg, but gain function off road. It’s about your priorities and what you will be driving. Plus these set ups look better imo too.
Here are 703s on a Falken WP 285/75/17 and 0mm offset. I am thinking about doing these springs too, especially after the smart cap, and loads that I have in the rear. e
Yes, you need a torque wrench to get to the settings of the smart cap install. Just remove the lower part of the bracket and slider. Don’t mess with the alignment of the smart cap.
I’m going with the Rek Gen universals. Looks like with our fender flare bolt patterns that they should go on easy without needing to drill. They are expensive though….I will update.
